DOWNTON ABBEY: It’s the Fall That Gets You

This episode, like the last, makes reference to sexual assault that may be triggering for some. Please read with caution. Fallout from last week’s episode is still in the air as Anna tries to avoid Bates, who seems to think that he has done something wrong while everyone else is confused in the staff. Denial is one powerful motivator. Mrs. …

COMMUNITY: Cooperative Polygraphy

Pierce’s laser lotus funeral seems more strange than ever imagined: pods and a casket and “Troy and Abed are in mourning” during their eulogy. But, despite all of what happened during the funeral, Pierce’s weird strike still remains as he organized a collective polygraph test for the study group (and Chang). Pierce being Pierce is what the group decides to …

HART OF DIXIE: Something to Talk About

Welcome back to another five episodes in Bluebell. Hopefully the town doesn’t fall apart between now and then… ”Weird” Medical Case of the Week: There is no case this week, maybe because there’s plenty of gossip and drama in the town that we can’t handle a medical case without making the episode bloated and heavy. Gossip: There’s a possibly that …

GOLDEN GLOBES: Nice Girls Post-Spin Edition

One of our favorite things to do (or a few of us) is to snark along to award shows, all in good fun. Of course. Below are thoughts from Leah, Lisa and Louise (all the L’s in one post!) about the best and worst of the 71th Annual Golden Globe awards. Most Shocking Victory Leah: Brooklyn Nine-Nine. One of my …

DOWNTON ABBEY: House Party

Warning: this recap contains references to a sexual assault that takes place in the episode. If this is a trigger, please do not read further. Before the recap gets into full swing, it should be noted (and I had long forgotten until New Year’s Eve) that the creator and writer of Downton Abbey was the co-writer of “Gosford Park” from …

Deep in the heart …

DOWNTON ABBEY: Changes Afoot

So here we are with another year of Downton Abbey and plenty of stories on the horizon. The theme of the season seems to focus on change, and how willing (and able) everyone around Downton Abbey is to accept it. As the season begins, everyone in the house reals from the sudden departure of O’Brien, who has run off to …

COMMUNITY: Repilot; Introduction to Teaching

Welcome back Human Beings! It’s been a strange and long hiatus for everyone at Greendale Community College, but now that we’re back, let’s get down to business. Repilot So, as the episode says, it’s a re-piloting of things, and that means we have to see everyone at their absolute worst. That means that Jeff’s job as a lawyer had to …

ARROW: Three Ghosts

For the second half of the fall finale, we’re starting off with the less than awesome cliffhanger – Oliver on some crazy drug that Barry can’t manage to figure out right now. I’d feel bad for Barry for getting into this mess, but I find him too adorable question his motives in how to save Oliver’s life (really rat poison?!). …
