Rueben's Ramblings
I Survived Comic Con Again
Comic Con has come and gone once again; and I have survived the 4 and a half days of mayhem, excitement, packed panel rooms, sleepless nights and aching muscles. But beyond all that “stuff” the convention is always one of my most favorite times of the year for me.
Over the course of 4 days I got to see some of the best panels the convention had to offer. The first full day included Amber Benson (Buffy) and other genre authors talking about their books, the casts and crews of White Collar and Burn Notice reveling in their fans appreciation for their shows, Scott Bakula speaking about his critic- and fan-favorite show Quantum Leap and I got to sit in on a panel featuring some of the top women writers in television and movies.
The second day featured panels with the cast and crew of the new CBS series Hawaii Five-0 and the new NBC drama The Cape (where we also got to see the entire pilot) as well as having a chance to be in the press room with the cast and executive producers from Caprica.
On Saturday, which is typically the biggest day of the convention, featured the cast and crew of Chuck – in what was probably the BEST panel of the entire convention – as well as the cast and crew of the new NBC drama The Event and panels with the cast and crew of the Syfy shows Warehouse 13 and Eureka. My day ended with being in the press room for both of these shows.
The convention was capped off with panels featuring the cast and crew of Castle, the BBC import Merlin and the new Cartoon Network live-action series Unnatural History.
You can look for stories from me and the rest of the NiceGirls very soon about our experiences at Comic Con.
