5 Reasons to Love the Women of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The third season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back tomorrow night. It will be interesting to see how the battle between Coulson and Gideon Malick goes down and what the entire team will do against Grant Ward who returned from Maveth a very different man. But it’s the women of the series who are the most intriguing.
Here are 5 reasons why we love the women of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.:
1. Unstoppable – Melinda May (aka The Cavalry) is a virtually unstoppable warrior who can seemingly take on any combatant. She may show weakness, but she never gives up when she knows exactly what the stakes are.
2. Powerful – Daisy “Skye” Johnson started out as a hacktvist, who became a somewhat reluctant member of S.H.I.E.L.D., but when she was transformed into an Inhuman known as Quake, she became a powerful weapon for the agency. Her evolving powers are a source of conflict for the team, but she still knows her own mind and what she needs to do.
3. Brains – Jemma Simmons is one-half of the brains behind the SHIELD team, but she has shown that she is more than just brains. Even when faced with near death, she used her brains and her own knowledge to put the team’s goals before her own.
4. Strong – Bobbi Morse is a strong agent, who – much like Agent May – can take on nearly any combatant and survived a near fatal beating at the hands of turncoat Grant Ward and Agent 33. Never doubt that Morse has her team’s best interests at heart.
5. Deceptively Evil – The female villains of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Raina (former member of the Centipede Group turned Inhuman), Jiaying (Daisy’s mother) and Agent 33 (former SHIELD agent forced to be a Hydra operative) – were all formidable in their own ways. And while they were deceptively evil, they certainly added an amazing level of intrigue, mystery and scariness to the show. What would a show be without the opposing forces at play? All of these women worked to keep SHIELD on their toes.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be back with new episodes of its third season tomorrow night, March 8 at 9/8c on ABC.
