NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Matt Passmore

By  |

Australian actor Matt Passmore is the Nice Boy of the Week thanks to his role on the A&E police drama The Glades where he portrays former Chicago cop Jim Longworth who transplants himself, after an unfortunate encounter with his Captain, to the Sunshine State for work as a Detective for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Matt was born in Wynnum-Manly in Queensland and he served in the Army in the early 90’s. Before attending the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1999, he worked a variety of jobs like factory work. Soon enough, though, he landed roles in the Australian TV shows Always Greener, Blue Heelers, The Cooks, Last Man Standing and Underbelly: Tale of Two Cities.

In 2005, he had a small role in the box office film Son of the Mask and appeared in the 2009 failed pilot called Masterwork from Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring that was to co-star Scott Porter (Hart of Dixie), Merrin Dungey (Alias) and Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones).

But, it was his role on the popular Australian series McLeod’s Daughters that got him the most attention. He appeared in season 6 as Greg Hope, but returned to the show in seasons 7 and 8 as Marcus Turner.

Matt got married in 1997, but that lasted only eight years; and then for a short time he dated his McLeod’s Daughter co-star Rachel Carpani (Against the Wall).

The Glades airs on A&E on Sunday nights at 9/8c.
