NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Joe Anderson
This week’s Nice Boy introduces Joe Anderson, currently playing Lincoln Cole on ABC’s The River. I had a chance to talk briefly with Joe this week and he’s so excited about his show and his career, well, it was catchy! His enthusiasm filtered out to me and I knew that he must be made a Nice Boy so that I could share the goodness.
Joe was born and raised in London, England, and he originally studied photography. One wonders if we will see Joe go behind the cameras on The River at some point. it was a question I didn’t have the chance to ask him but you can be sure I’m keeping my eyes peeled.
Following photography, Joe attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art to hone his acting talents. He has worked in theater, television and films, and is best recognized by Twi-hards as Alistair from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2.”
But wait, there’s more! Joe is also a talented musician and performed several vocal numbers for the soundtrack of “Across the Universe,” as well as playing the bass in “[easyazon-link asin=”B00104AYGU”]Control[/easyazon-link]” and “The 27 Club.” He’s won the Best Actor, Drama Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in 2008, and has received the Rising Star Award at the California Independent Film Festival in 2008.
Joe’s character on The River embarks on a journey with his mother to find his father, who was believed dead until a homing beacon from his boat begins to send out signals. Emmett Cole’s body was never found so his death was never confirmed. Lincoln and his mother, along with a camera crew and others take a trip out to the deep Amazonian wild where much is unknown and left alone for a very good reason. The River is thrilling, scary and provides an interesting look at the Amazon culture, with the beautiful scenery provided by the lovely island of Oahu.
Join me in welcoming Joe Anderson to our Nice Boys Wall of Fame. Don’t forget to watch him on The River, Tuesday nights at 9/8c, on ABC.
