Televerse 26, the three-day conference celebrating all things television with unprecedented access to insider secrets, craft expertise and innovations propelling television forward, will hold its second annual event from August 14 through August 16 at the JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles.

The line-up this year includes the following workshops and panels (the following descriptions are verbatim from Televerse’s website, by the way):

Workshop: Acting Class with Henry Winkler

Emmy Award-winning actor and TV Academy Hall of Fame inductee Henry Winkler returns to host a live acting workshop, delving into the art of performance, building character and connecting with your audience

Panel: American Hostage: First Look with Creator and Cast

Join co-creators and executive producers Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers, writer and executive producer Sharon Hoffman and actors Giovanni Ribise and Kristoffere Polaha for an exclusive first-look at the new anthology series that will premiere on MGM+ this Fall. The series is based on the acclaimed first season of the scripted podcast of the same name, which is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s that tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter, who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed Heckman’s popular radio news program. Other cast members of the series include Mireille Enos and William Jackson Harper.

Panel: Band of Brothers 25th Anniversary Reunion

On September 9, 2001, Band of Brothers premiered on HBO, bringing the story of the real-life heroes of “Easy” Company into the homes of viewers just days before a national tragedy. Over the course of 10 sprawling episodes, audiences would follow the men of “Easy” Company into the mud, muck and harrowing realities of World War II, as well as the personal and emotional toil of war.

Twenty-five years later, the cast, writers and producers of the Emmy Award-winning series will reunite to revisit the remarkable level of craft and filmmaking that has solidified Band of Brothers’ legacy as both a singular tribute to the men of “Easy” Company and an extraordinary feat of TV storytelling that continues to resonate with audiences around the world. Confirmed panelists include lead writer and supervising producer Erik Jendresen, writer Graham Yost, cast members Michael Cudlitz, Rick Gomez, Scott Grimes, Frank John Hughes, Ron Livingston, James Madio, Ross McCall and Richard Speight Jr., and moderator Kirk Saduski.

Panel: Bump in the Night: A Conversation with Horror Showrunners

From the supernatural, to the psychological, to the genuinely terrifying, Horror TV is in the midst of a streaming renaissance, with creators finding new ways to upend even the most classic titles and genre conventions to keep audiences on the edge of their seats (and occasionally checking under the bed). Join the showrunners behind horror hits past and present for a conversation about channeling our deepest, darkest anxieties and fears in search of catharsis; using horror and genre elements to subvert audience expectation; and their personal storytelling approach to original, adapted, and reimagined horror narratives. The panel is expected to include Haley Z. Boston (Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen), Chris Cantwell (The Terror: Devil in Silver) and Victor LaValle (The Terror: Devil in Silver).

Panel: Creating the Score & Songs of a Show

Though invisible to the eye, music plays an essential role in setting tone, knitting together scenes and highlighting emotions. Specific melodies remind us of individual characters or moments in time, and in the hands of a skilled composer, a subtle shift in tempo or an increase in volume communicates far more than the audience may realize. The musical masterminds behind your favorite series provide a live look at the process of composing and songwriting across genres – from scoring pivotal character moments, to creating original songs within the world of a show and more. Confirmed panels are expected to include Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Kris Bowers (Spider-Noir, Bridgerton and When They See Us), Sherri Chung (Based on a True Story, Found and Riverdale) and David Fleming (Widow’s Bay, The Last of Us and Mr. & Mrs. Smith).

Panel: Homeland Creatives Reunion

The creative team behind Homeland reunites for a look back at the Emmy-winning geopolitical thriller that kept viewers on the edge of their seats for nearly a decade. Join the series’ award-winning creators, writers, directors and producers for a deep dive into high-stakes storytelling, from crafting eight propulsive seasons, to shaping a singular protagonist in Carrie Mathison, to navigating a sprawling international production across seven countries.

Panel: LA Sports: From Game to Broadcast

Join the voices of Los Angeles’ iconic sports franchises for a dynamic conversation about what it takes to deliver unforgettable live sports television — both on and off screen. Two-time Stanley Cup champion Jarret Stoll (Los Angeles Kings), three-time NBA champion James Worthy (Los Angeles Lakers) and six-time MLB All-Star Nomar Garciaparra (Los Angeles Dodgers) will join producer Brandon Moore (Spectrum Sports), studio host-reporter Allie Clifton and moderator Jaime Maggio (KCBS Sports) for an inside look at the transition from player to broadcaster and how producers, directors, and on-air talent collaborate in real time to craft franchise-defining moments.

My So-Called Life Reunion

Despite only airing 19 episodes in total, Winnie Holzman’s authentic look at the inner life of 15-year-old Angela Chase (Claire Danes) and the lives of her friends and family in the suburbs of Pittsburgh changed TV – and teen narratives – forever. The series not only redefined what a “coming of age” story could look like; it fearlessly explored the social issues of the mid-1990s, from homophobia and homelessness to school violence, teenage alcoholism and more.

Join the cast and creatives – which is currently set to include stars Bess Armstrong, Wilson Cruz, Devon Gummersall, A.J. Panel: Revenge 15 Year Reunion

A modern reimagining of The Count of Monte Cristo set in the picturesque Hamptons, Revenge became a bona fide hit upon its debut in 2011, dominating primetime viewership and conversation as viewers followed Emily Thorne / Amanda Clarke’s mission to exact retribution on the powerful family that destroyed her father. Fifteen years later, join the cast of Revenge – which is expected to include stars Emily VanCamp, Josh Bowman, Ashley Madekwe, Gabriel Mann, Nick Wechsler, Christa B. Allen and Connor Paolo – as they reunite to revisit the relationships, rivalries, and dramatic twists that made the series a watercooler phenomenon, and its influence in the years since.

Workshop: Scene by Scene with Paris Barclay

Emmy Award-winning producer/director Paris Barclay (NYPD Blue, The West Wing, Sons of Anarchy) takes us inside the director’s point of view with a deep dive into his creative process (from pre-production to post) and iconic scenes and episodes from throughout his career.

Panel: Six Feet Under: Inside the Series Finale

Alan Ball’s darkly comedic, Los Angeles-set family drama Six Feet Under not only introduced viewers to the Fishers, one of TV’s most dysfunctional, nuanced, and beloved families – it unflinchingly asked its audience to contemplate the full spectrum of life, death, and everything in between.

Twenty-five years later, Ball and his collaborators will gather for a special screening of the iconic series finale, “Everyone’s Waiting,” followed by a conversation about crafting the unforgettable final chapter of the Fisher family and the series’ emotional and creative resonance more than two decades later.

Panel: Star Trek and the Evolution of VFX and Virtual Production

Celebrate the 60th anniversary of Star Trek with a deep dive into the craft behind the franchise. We’ll explore the evolution of visual effects over six decades of iconic series – from practical models to CGI to fully realized virtual production – as Star Trek’s use of technology, craft, and storytelling continues to boldly take audiences where no property has gone before.

Confirmed panelists include: Chris Fisher (director and co-executive producer, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds; author, The Producer’s Guide to Virtual Production), Jason Zimmerman (supervising producer and lead VFX supervisor, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy), Andrew Coutts (editor, director and producer, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds; editor, Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard) and Henry Alonso Myers (showrunner and executive producer, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), with more to be announced.

Workshop: The Final Cut with Michael Ruscio, ACE

ACE Eddie Winner and Emmy-nominated editor Michael Ruscio, ACE (3 Body Problem, True Blood, Six Feet Under) takes us inside the edit room for a one-of-a-kind look at the complex and collaborative process of assembling an episode of television, deconstructing the program that ultimately airs and illuminating the stages of the edit that lead to the final result.

Panel: Tracker: A Conversation with Justin Hartley

Join Tracker star and executive producer Justin Hartley for an exclusive conversation about CBS’s breakout hit, the show’s continued success, bringing production to Los Angeles for its upcoming fourth season and what’s next for Colter Shaw.
