A Million Little Things: “‘Til death do us part”

By  |

A Million Little Things aired their season 2 finale on Thursday night.

Here is a synopsis for season two, episode 19: ‘Til death do us part

As Eddie and Katherine prepare to renew their vows, Eve goes into labor and everyone rushes to the hospital. Meanwhile, things are getting serious with Delilah and Miles. Maggie shares some shocking news with Gary, and Eddie learns more about his involvement in the mysterious lake accident.

Nice Girls Cay and Rueben share their thoughts on this episode:

Cay:

I have to be honest – I hated almost every part of this episode! Things ended badly for virtually every character! And did so in a way that I was happy the season is over rather than being excited to find out what happens in season 3 (the show has not yet to be renewed).

The only bright spot for me was Danny and Sophie both trying to hit on Delilah’s new beefcake and their reactions when they figured out who he was. I also liked that we got to know a bit more about him and his personality and he’s clearly more than just a pretty face (and butt, as Gary pointed out!)

As for the rest of it, pretty much everyone else ended up miserable! I know the show is a drama, but you can’t have EVERYONE have bad drama all in the same episode! First, there is all the baby-daddy drama with Eve. Then she goes into labor, nearly loses the baby, but everything works out okay but then she decides not to give up the baby? Then we just see Regina and Rome go home heartbroken. Maybe this will lead them to decide to try to get pregnant themselves, but I’m not sure I care anymore.

I can’t believe that Maggie finally spoke her mind to Gary only to be rebuffed in a rather cruel way. Then he gets dumped and goes running after her at the airport. Such an annoying cliche, but maybe they are the happy ending here? I’m not really sure at this point.

I was really mad at Eddie when he ended up in that bar because I really thought he was going to throw it all away. After all my frustration and disappointment with the whole episode, I was grateful that he called Katherine and told her he was coming home and that he was still sober. And then he gets hit by the car. Seriously, was that necessary? Don’t he and Katherine already have enough drama to deal with?

Rueben:

Oh my {insert every expletive you can think of here} God!! What in the h*ll just happened?! This episode was just…I screamed, I cried, I laughed a little bit, but most of all I’m just pissed to say the least.

Just like you Cay, I get it that it was the finale, but why did nearly everyone have to be left in such dire straits especially Eddie – I knew he was going to get hit by a car before he even walked out of that bar. It’s probably that damn drunk, older man from the bar!!! And, what about Rome and Regina? That was just so horrible to see them with the baby only to have Eve change her mind. I can’t imagine that things are going to get any better for them given that Regina is so heartbroken. Her saying to Rome, “you made me want this,” was just devastating to watch.

I agree the only cute scene was Sophie and Danny both trying to hit on Miles, only to learn that he is their mom’s new boyfriend (boy toy). You are right, Cay, he is more than a handsome face and cute butt; but I have to wonder if he is too good to be true? I also loved that moment between Rome and the baby, but given what happened right after that, it sadly negates that sweet moment.

As for Eddie, I’ve been hating the whole story direction with this dead girl from his and his sister’s past. It seemed too cliche that the sister showed up at their house just as Eddie was getting ready to leave with the wedding dress and the cake to meet Katherine at the hospital. Even worse they way it ended with him on the phone with Katherine as he got struck. Just sh*tty!!

I felt horrible for Maggie at the hospital as Gary yelled at her. Yes, she did come to her realization at the 11th hour, and perhaps for that brief moment in time Gary had the right to lash out at her, but it still sucked. I felt even just as bad for her at the airport even with Gary telling her that he loved her too, he bid her goodbye and went to Darcy (with those ridiculous cowboy boots).

This was definitely not the ending I was anticipating. Sure, I expected drama and cliffhanger endings, but not these kinds of endings. I’m disappointed to say the least, and apprehensive about what will happen should the show get picked up for another season.

A Million Little Things has yet to be renewed by ABC.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
