911: 4 Questions After “Stuck”
After the multi-episode earthquake the crew slowed down this week. In fact, the various crises they assisted in all involved someone being stuck. Some were humorous, like the tailpipe, but others were a little more heartbreaking. I have a few questions after this episode.
Eddie Diaz, daddy of the year?
We finally got to see a little more of Eddie’s life outside of work, and I know I’m not the only one that would be very happy to call him daddy. The morning montage was so warm and cute. Christopher is also pretty much my new favorite thing. Eddie is struggling to manage as a single dad, and it was nice to see the team pull together to help him out. I’d be fine if Christopher got to ride in the firetruck a few more times. That was pretty cute, OSHA be damned.
What do we think of new Chimney?
Chimney finally faced his near death experience from season 1 after he ran into his ex. I’m glad they finally address the change in Chimney. I mean, he started out as kind of a jerk, and he’s become one of my favorites on the show. I’m glad to see a little more of what makes him tick, but I suspect he’ll be working this out for a while.
How is Buck gonna move on from Abby?
Dear Buck, it’s time to move on. I think Buck is finally starting to pick up on the fact that Abby isn’t coming back any time soon. But, how does the guy move on when he’s living in her apartment and credits her with all the positive changes he’s made to himself. Buck’s gonna have to learn that he can be better, even without her. He’s already well on his way, as we saw when he helped Eddie out with his babysitting issues, and he’s got big sister Maddie around now to help keep him in check.
Athena and Bobby, yes or no?
No. Nope. No way. I don’t feel it. Am I just missing something, or does it just not work? I could be wrong. Bobby seems like the perfect partner, and Athena is amazing. I just can’t figure out why they don’t work for me. Athena is in a better place in life right now, though, and that’s very good. I love seeing her happy, and I think it makes the character richer to see her still dealing with the new incarnation of her family without all the stress. Still, I can’t help but think she’s headed for a promotion of some kind because she can’t help but step up when needed.
Hen was pretty quiet this week, but she needs a break after her earthquake ordeal, and it looks like she’s got trouble on the horizon at home (at least according to next week’s previews). Maddie’s moved out on her own and settled into her new job.
911 airs Mondays at 9/8c on Fox.
