Did You Know: TV Trivia

By  |

It’s been quite some time since I’ve done one of these “Did You Know” columns, so I felt it was time to dig out some TV trivia to share with our readers.

Did You Know…

that Peter Berg, is a well-known actor whose TV credits include Chicago Hope, Entourage, The Leftovers and more recently Ballers. But he has also put his stamp on being a producer and executive producer on TV shows like Friday Night Lights and Prime Suspect (in addition to the aforementioned The Leftovers and Ballers) as well as starring in movies like Lions for Lambs, Battleship and Deepwater Horizon and he most recently served as executive producer on the Netflix period piece drama American Primeval. But, did you know that Peter got his TV start in the original 21 Jump Street, appearing in an episode in season two of that Johnny Depp-led series. What’s more he starred in the 1993 box office movie Aspen Extreme that starred Due South actor Paul Gross, General Hospital alum Finola Hughes and The Fosters star Teri Polo?

Clockwise from top left: Simu Liu, Laysla De Oliveira, Kevin Hanchard, Mena Massoud, Will Kemp and Pedro Pascal

Did You Know…

that some pretty recognizable faces made guest appearances in The CW drama Nikita, which starred Maggie Q (Designated Survivor and Ballard). Those faces included Simu Liu, you know the star of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as well as Barbie; Laysla De Oliveira, who has gone on to star in Lioness alongside Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman; Kevin Hanchard, you know from Hudson & Rex and a little show called Orphan Black; Mena Massoud, who starred alongside Will Smith in the 2019 live-action movie Aladdin; Hallmark hunk Will Kemp as well as Pedro Pascal, you know from The Last of Us and The Mandalorian himself.

Did You Know…

that This Is Us, Paradise and Washington Black actor Sterling K. Brown, you know that guy who won some Emmys, a Golden Globe and some SAG Awards, got his first TV breaks in guest starring roles in an episode of the short-lived series Tarzan on The CW as well as one episode of JAG, one episode of Alias and several episodes on Supernatural.

Did You Know…

that Hallmark alums Andrew Walker and Rachel Boston, who this year starred in the rom-com movie Adventures in Love & Birding on that cable network, have worked together before. As most Hallmark viewers are probably aware by now, Andrew and Rachel appeared in an episode of ER back in 2008, playing a couple, but they also appeared in a Lifetime movie together, and not one of that network’s “women in jeopardy” movies but the 2018 holiday movie Christmas in Tennessee.
