My Top Choices for November TV

By  |

Believe it or not, throughout the entire month of November, there will be nearly 65 movies set to air on linear and streaming services. Some of those are box office movies making their small screen debut, some of them are non-holiday-related independent made-for-TV movies while the majority are, of course, holiday-themed movies because celebrating the holidays (primarily Christmas) have to get started before Halloween even happens. Please take the latter part of that previous sentence as sarcastic as you can imagine, and that will come close to the manner in which I mean those words.

MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES

The following are the ten holiday movies that I have to admit I will enjoy watching, most of all because of the cast members:

Our Holiday Story on Hallmark Channel on November 2 at 8 PM, starring Warren Christie and Nikki DeLoach

Hot Frosty on Netflix on November 13, starring Lacey Chabert (yes, that Lacey Chabert from Hallmark fame) and Dustin Milligan

A Reason for the Season on Hallmark Mystery on November 14 at 8 PM, starring Taylor Cole and Kevin McGarry

Jingle Bell Run on Hallmark Channel on November 16 at 8 PM, starring Ashley Williams and Andrew Walker

The Merry Gentlemen in Netflix on November 20, starring Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray

A Novel Noel on Hallmark Mystery on November 21 at 8 PM, starring Julie Gonzalo and Brendan Penny

A Little Women’s Christmas on Great American Family on November 23 at 8 PM, starring (among others) Jen Lilley, Trevor Donovan, Laura Osnes and Jesse Hutch

Three Wise Men and a Boy (the sequel to last year’s Three Wise Men and a Baby) on Hallmark Channel on November 23 at 8 PM, starring Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, Paul Campbell and Margaret Colin

Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle on Hallmark Channel on November 28 at 8 PM, starring (among others) Rachel Boston, who takes over the title lead role

Believe in Christmas on Hallmark Channel on November 30 at 6 PM, starring Meghan Ory and John Reardon (who many Hallmark viewers may not know are husband and wife in real life)

RETURNING DRAMAS

Then there are a few dramas that will be back with more episodes of their current or new seasons. Those include:

  • Yellowstone on November 10 at 8 PM on Paramount Network; this will be the second part of its 5th and final season;
  • Silo on November 15 on Apple TV+; this will be the second season;
  • Cobra Kai on November 15 on Netflix; this will be part two of the 6th and final season
  • Outlander on November 22 at 8 PM on Starz; this will be the second part of season 7

NEW SHOWS ON THE TUBE

There are also a few new dramas that will debut in November that I really want to see:

Holidazed on November 14 on Hallmark+

This new series focuses on six diverse families, each with distinct backgrounds, cultures, and generations, residing on the same cul-de-sac. As they navigate the joyous chaos of the holiday season, they embrace a family dynamic unique to them. Amid heightened emotions, these families and neighbors engage in both humorous and heartfelt celebrations of their traditions and quirks. Throughout the festivities, they uncover the universal thread binding them all: the various manifestations of love. The large ensemble cast includes Ser’Darius Blain, Lindy Booth, Erin Cahill, Osric Chau, Nazneen Contractor, Loretta Devine, Noemi Gonzalez, Ian Harding, Dennis Haysbert, Rachelle Lefevre, Virginia Madsen, John C. McGinley, Holland Roden and Lucille Soong.

Cross on Amazon on November 14

Based on the characters from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series. The series stars Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross, the detective and forensic psychologist who is uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify – and ultimately capture – the murderers. The cast includes Alona Tal, Eloise Mumford, Isaiah Mustafa and Ryan Eggold.

The Agency on Paramount+ With Showtime on November 29

Based on the 2015 series The Bureau, this series follows a world of even deeper intrigue and subterfuge, with characters fighting their own battles as they grapple with existential threats to the nation and the world. Michael Fassbender leads a cast that includes David Harewood, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith and Richard Gere.

SPECIALS

Lastly, there are two specials that you should make sure are listed on your calendars:

Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked will air on NBC at 10 PM. This special was filmed on the set of the film, will include a scene from the film that has not yet been seen and will feature cast members Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode.

Lastly, Election Night: Decision 2024 coverage will be on ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC and more networks on November 5.

NOTE:  Please make sure, if you haven’t done so yet, please get out to vote!!
