The following list provides the dates of the dramas that will debut, return or end on the major and cable networks as well as the streaming services AND the made-for-TV movies and so much more that will air all throughout September:

September 1 – The finale of Hotel Portofino will air on PBS at 8 PM

September 1 – The two-hour season premiere of The Chosen will air on CW

September 1 – The Irish detective series Borderline will debut in the US on the Roku Channel online today

Show Synopsis: Straitlaced detective inspector Philip Boyd (Eoin Macken) of North Ireland finds himself working alongside his foul-mouthed Republic of Ireland counterpart, detective inspector Aoife Regan (Amy De Bhrun), and although neither are happy about the partnership, the two must put their personal and professional differences aside to solve the brutal cases of victims along the border. Lochlann O’Mearáin (Outlander) also stars.

September 4 – The fourth season of Slow Horses will premiere online on Apple TV+ today

September 4 – The Apple TV+ drama Sunny will air its finale online today

September 4 – The drama Tell Me Lies will premiere its second season online on Hulu

September 5 – The new limited series The Perfect Couple will debut online on Netflix today

Show Synopsis: Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson) is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket, until a shocking death derails the wedding — and turns everyone into a suspect. The ensemble cast includes Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Jack Reynor, Michael Beach, Meghann Fahy and Billy Howle.

September 5 – The new drama These Stones will debut online on UP Faith & Family today

Show Synopsis: A grieving daughter (Madeline Carroll) finds herself drawn into the same supernatural program her late mother worked – matching undercover Bible characters with people facing challenges today. It’s all this stunned daughter can do to keep up normal appearances while seeking redemption for her past mistakes. The cast includes Karen Abercrombie and Charlene Amoia.

September 5 – The Peacock series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Based on the acclaimed iHeart true-crime podcast, the series follows the infamous story of how an armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life but ultimately transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” When a hustler named Chicken Man (Kevin Hart) hosts an afterparty to celebrate the fight with a guest list of the country’s wealthiest, the night ends with the most brazen criminal underworld heist in Atlanta’s history. The cast includes Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Sinqua Walls, Chloe Bailey, Clifton Powell and Rockmond Dunbar.

September 6 – Part 2 of season 4 of Power Book II: Ghost will return at 8 PM on Starz

September 6 – The Netflix movie Rebel Ridge will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: An ex-Marine (Aaron Pierre) grapples his way through a web of small-town corruption when an attempt to post bail for his cousin escalates into a violent standoff with the local police chief (Don Johnson). The cast includes AnnaSophia Robb, David Denman and James Cromwell.

September 7 – The Hallmark Channel movie His & Hers will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Married couple Dana (Lacey Chabert) and Mark (Brennan Elliott) are high-powered lawyers at two separate New York City law firms. They soon find themselves on opposing sides of a messy divorce between two reality stars, Sammy and Brett. When both clients are unable to compromise, Dana and Mark are headed for a courtroom showdown that results in tensions infiltrating their otherwise happy household.

NOTE: This is the 10th time since 2015 that Chabert and Elliott have appeared in a Hallmark movie together.

September 7 – The new movie The Engagement Plan will debut on Great American Family at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Wade (Jack Schumacher) has a plan for everything! Wade’s plan to propose to his girlfriend, Kayla (Mia Pollini) may be the crowning achievement of plans. With a 3-carat diamond ring in tow and reservations booked at the Waldorf for his parents, Dash and Margot, (Eva LaRue and Judd Nelson) and Kayla’s parents, Ed and Mama Marilyn (Ted McGinley and Faith Ford), Wade marvels at the absolute perfection of his engagement plan. Until his plan hits a dead end on a dirt road, a country road. Kayla changes the plan to have Wade meet at her family’s farm to help her mom and dad whose cow is expecting a calf any day. Dressed in business best, Wade – a fish out of water – has an unexpected – and definitely an unplanned encounter with a family who is not convinced he is right for Kayla. Then Wade meets her ex-boyfriend who tries to prove it. The cast also includes Emily Topper and Eric Lutz.

September 9 – The finale of 61st Street will air on CW at 9 PM

September 10 – The movie The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription will debut online on Hallmark+ (formerly Hallmark Movies Now)

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jane Da Silva (Jodie Sweetin) and Detective John Cameron (Stephen Huszar) fight for justice as they race against time to prove the innocence of a wrongly imprisoned teenager.

September 10 – The new drama The Chicken Sisters will debut online on Hallmark+

Show Synopsis: With legendary actress Margo Martindale as the Narrator, this new family drama is dipped in southern charm, served up with a saucy side of romance. The setting is the fictional town of Merinac, where a generations-old rift between dueling fried chicken restaurants – Mimi’s and Frannie’s – has left the founders’ families fractured and the locals taking sides. When the popular cooking competition show Ultimate Kitchen Clash comes to town, it could be the recipe for ending this feud once and for all. But things are fixing to heat up both inside and outside of the kitchen as the reality show spotlight causes sparks to fly as secrets are spilled and feathers get ruffled. The cast includes Lea Thompson, Wendie Malick, Schuyler Fisk, Rukiya Bernard, Genevieve Angelson and Jake Foy.

September 10 – The new movie Love on the Danube: Love Song will also debut online on Hallmark+

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A daughter traveling with her widowed mother and a son traveling with his widower father meet on a cruise and decide that their musical parents would make the perfect couple. They, in turn, try to engineer a romance only to fall in love themselves. The cast includes Wes Brown, Nazneen Contractor and Catherine Disher.

September 10 – The second Presidential Debate – this time with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump – will air on ABC at 9 PM

September 11 – The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will air on MTV at 8 PM

September 12 – Part 2 of season 4 of Emily in Paris will return on Netflix today

September 12 – The second season premiere of The Old Man will air on FX at 10 PM with two back-to-back episodes

September 12 – The Chicken Sisters will move to Thursdays online on Hallmark+ starting today

September 13 – The new Starz drama Three Women will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: The series finds three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. Lina (Betty Gilpin), a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. Sloane (DeWanda Wise), a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a committed open marriage with Richard (Blair Underwood), until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story. Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), a student in North Dakota, weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher (Jason Ralph) of an inappropriate relationship. Gia (Shailene Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories and her relationships with them change the course of her life forever.

September 13 – The 90-minute special Wynonna Earp: Vengeance will debut on the streaming service Tubi online today

Special Synopsis: This special will pick up about 18 months after the events of the show’s series finale, calling Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) back home to Purgatory to help fight a new evil. Returning to their roles will include Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell.

September 13 – The Hallmark Mystery movie The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In this sequel movie, as Birdie and Alden Case’s (Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell) relationship strengthens, they discover a mutual interest for True Crime. But when their favorite podcaster is found dead, it is up to The Cases to listen to the clues.

September 13 – The Netflix movie Uglies will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Based on the novel by author Scott Westerfield, the movie centers around a future post-apocalyptic dystopian society in which a compulsory operation wipes out physical differences and makes everyone pretty. The movie stars Joey King, Chase Stokes, Jillian Murray, Laverne Cox, Luke Eisner, Keith Powers, Kevin Miles and Jan Luis Castellanos.

September 13 – The box office movie Civil War will make its streaming debut on MAX today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House. The cast includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman and Jefferson White.

September 14 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Heiress and the Handyman will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: After losing her fortune, an heiress (Jodie Sweetin) moves to a rural farm where she mistakes her handsome neighbor (Corey Sevier) for the handyman. To live up to her family’s legacy, he helps her compete at the county fair.

September 14 – The Great American Family movie Love’s Second Act will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jamie (Jodie Sweetin), an aspiring filmmaker, heads back to her hometown for some inspiration. She finds it in ex-boyfriend, Nick (Tilky Jones), who still works at the small-town movie theater where they both first fell in love.

September 15 – The finale of Emperor of Ocean Park will air on MGM+ at 9 PM

September 15 – The 76th Annual Emmy Awards will air at 8 PM on ABC

September 15 – The second season of Tulsa King will premiere online on Paramount+ today

September 15 – The second season of Ridley will premiere on PBS at 8 PM followed by the debut of Moonflower Murders at 9 PM and followed by the 4th season premiere of Van Der Valk at 10 PM

Show Synopsis (Moonflower Murders): Based on the chart-topping books by Anthony Horowitz, the six-part murder mystery within a murder mystery stars Academy Award nominee Lesley Manville as editor turned sleuth Susan Ryeland, and Timothy McMullan as famous literary detective Atticus Pünd.

September 17 – The new ABC drama High Potential will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Based on the popular French series, this crime procedural will star Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata.) The series also stars Javicia Leslie, Judy Reyes, Deniz Akdeniz and Garret Dillahunt.

September 17 – The Hulu documentary Child Star will debut online today

Documentary Synopsis: This documentary will explore the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. Through celebrity interviews, verite scenes and archival footage, this film deconstructs the stages of earlier stardom and looks at the entertainment system over the last century. Among those to be featured are Demi Lovato, Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné and JoJo Siwa [among others].

September 18 – The first two episodes of the new Disney+ series Agatha All Along will debut online today

Show Synopsis: The infamous Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen (Joe Locke) helps break her free from a distorted spell. The ensemble cast includes Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Paul Adelstein, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn and Debra Jo Rupp.

September 19 – The Hallmark+ movie Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A romantic tale of a heartbroken art gallery manager, who takes her honeymoon river cruise solo and meets an incognito prince. The movie stars Jessica Sipos and Dan Jeannotte.

September 19 – The Jane Mysteries: Murder at Moseby will also debut online on Hallmark+ today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jane (Jodie Sweetin) goes undercover at her alma mater to help her college boyfriend solve a crime he may have witnessed years ago during the annual Edgar Allan Poe Festival. The cast includes Stephen Huszar, Paris Jefferson and Rainbow Sun Francks.

September 19 – The limited series debut of The Penguin will air on HBO at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, (a completely unrecognizable Colin Farrell) makes a play to seize the reins of the crime world in Gotham. The ensemble cast includes Cristin Milioti, Carmen Ejogo, Clancy Brown, Michael Kelly, Rhenzy Feliz, Scott Cohen, Deirdre O’Connell, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Teho Rossi.

September 19 – The Amazon Prime limited series A Very Royal Scandal will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Michael Sheen stars as Prince Andrew and Ruth Wilson stars as Emily Maitlis, in a limited series that demonstrates the power of journalism through a pivotal moment in British history. One night. One hour. One interview that sent shockwaves around the globe.

September 19 – The Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will debut online today

Show Synopsis: The anthology series follows Lyle and Erik Menendez (newcomers Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez), two brothers who fatally shot their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez (Javier Bardem and Chloe Sevigny) in their Beverly Hills home in 1989. During their trials, the brothers cited years of abuse as the reason for murdering their parents. However, prosecutors argued that their motive was to get their hands on the family fortune. The ensemble cast includes Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, Dallas Roberts, Jason Butler Harner, Enrique Murciano, Drew Powell and Jeff Perry.

September 20 – The box office movie His Three Daughters will make its streaming debut online on Netflix

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This tense, touching, and funny portrait of family dynamics follows three estranged sisters (Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olsen and Carrie Coon) as they converge in a New York apartment to care for their ailing father and try to mend their own broken relationship with one another. Jovan Adepo co-stars.

September 21 – The Hallmark Channel movie Falling Together will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Natalie (Ashley Williams) tries to bring feuding neighbors together in her new condo building. Her unexpected ally is the building’s super (Paul Campbell) who prefers to avoid getting involved.

September 21 – The 2021 movie Love at the Ranch will make its small screen debut on Great American Family at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Allison Sawyer (Laura Mitchell) is the go-to reporter at Metropolis Post, known for breaking high-profile stories. Her next story is writing a profile piece on one of her favorite authors Annabelle Lee. Annabelle based all her romantic novels on the timelessly beautiful Clyborne Ranch, far away from city life. Allison heads to the ranch and meets Hank (Jon Cor) and his adorable Grandma Stella who have been running the place together for years. As Allison gets closer to Annabelle’s life, she also becomes a lot closer to Hank. Sparks fly and there are surprises around every corner.

September 22 – The new CBS drama Matlock will air on a special night and the special time of 8 PM tonight

Show Synopsis: The series follows Madeline “Matty” Matlock (the one and only Kathy Bates) [who is not related to the original TV character of Ben Matlock] as she rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm, where she uses her wily tactics to win cases and expose wrongdoing. The cast includes David Del Rio, Jason Ritter, Leah Lewis, Skye P. Marshall as well as Eme Ikwuakor, Beau Bridges, Nicole de Boer and John Billingsley.

NOTE: Matlock will encore this pilot episode on October 10 and will then be back with new episodes starting on October 17.

September 22 – The series finale of Snowpiercer will air online on AMC+ today as well as on AMC at 9 PM

September 22 – The new FOX drama Rescue: Hi-Surf will debut at 8 PM

Show Synopsis: This pulse-pounding Hawaii lifeguard drama will give off vibes of the 90’s hit series Baywatch (which it is not), following the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu – the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. The series stars Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Ian Anthony Dale, Shawn Hatosy, Zoe Cipres, Alex Aiono, Kekoa Kekumano, Sea Shimooka and Robbie Magasiva.

September 22 – The MGM+ thriller series From will premiere at 9 PM

September 22 – The HBO drama Industry will move to its new timeslot of 10 PM tonight

September 23 – The new NBC medical drama Brilliant Minds will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, the series follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist (Zachary Quinto) and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. The cast includes Donna Murphy, Teddy Sears, Tamberla Perry, Alexander MacNicoll, Ashleigh LaThrop, Spence Moore II and Aury Krebs.

September 23 – The FOX drama 9-1-1: Lone Star will air its 5th season premiere at 8 PM followed by the timeslot premiere of the new drama Rescue: Hi-Surf at 9 PM

September 24 – The new FOX drama Murder In a Small Town will debut at 8 PM

Show Synopsis: Based on the Edgar Award-winning book series by novelist L.R. Wright, Rossif Sutherland stars as Karl Alberg, who moves to a quiet coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. But this gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets, and Karl will need to call upon all the skills that made him a world-class detective in solving the murders that, even in this seemingly idyllic setting, continue to wash up on his shore. Kristin Kreuk stars as Cassandra, a local librarian who becomes Alberg’s muse, foil and romantic interest. Aaron Douglas and Mya Lowe co-star as well as special guest appearances by James Cromwell, Stana Katic and Paula Patton.

September 25 – The NBC dramas Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. will air their season premieres at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

September 25 – The FX horror-thriller series Grotesquerie will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community with Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts) feeling these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone – or something – is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers. The cast also includes Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville.

September 26 – The People’s Choice Country Awards will debut online on Peacock and on NBC at 8 PM

September 26 – The ABC drama 9-1-1 will air its 8th season premiere at 8 PM followed by the debut of the new drama Doctor Odyssey at 9 PM followed by the 21st season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy at 10 PM

Show Synopsis (Doctor Odyssey): This high-octane procedural stars Joshua Jackson as Dr. Max Bankman, a Connecticut physician who accepts the position of ship’s doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore. The cast includes Don Johnson as Captain Robert Massey, Hamilton alum Phillipa Soo as nurse practitioner Avery Morgan and Sean Teale as registered nurse Tristan Silva.

September 26 – The Netflix rom-com series Nobody Wants This will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This comedy centered on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Kristen Bell), and an unconventional rabbi, Noah (Adam Brody). The cast includes Paul Ben-Victor, Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh and Michael Hitchcock.

September 26 – The new Hallmark+ movie Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This is the story of a publicist and a rising film star whose professional collaboration on the cruise develops into an unexpected romance. The movie stars Sarah Power and Brendan Penny.

September 26 – The new movie The Jane Mysteries: Too Much to Lose will also debut online on Hallmark+ today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jane (Jodie Sweetin) investigates the disappearance of a journalist after a significant game show win. Stephen Huszar, Paris Jefferson and Sherry Miller co-star.

September 27 – The Netflix sports movie Rez Ball will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The Chuska Warriors, a Native American high school basketball team from New Mexico, must band together after losing their star player if they want to keep their quest for a state championship alive. The cast includes Jessica Matten, Amber Midthunder and Julia Jones.

September 27 – The box office movie Wolfs will make its streaming debut online on Apple TV+ today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie follows two lone wolf fixers (Brad Pitt and George Clooney) who are assigned to the same job. The cast includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan and Richard Kind.

September 27 – The Hulu movie She Taught Love will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A guy, Frank (Darrell Britt-Gibson), on a self-destructive path. A girl, Mali (Arsema Thomas), with an expiration date. What a perfect time to meet and fall in love. The cast includes Taissa Farmiga, D’Arcy Carden and Kevin Carroll.

September 28 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Real West will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A family vacation to a working Ranch introduces Professor Rebecca to Jake West. Rebecca is a widower chasing tenure and Jake is a handsome cowboy who never settled down. The movie stars Kimberley Sustad, Lucas Bryant and James Denton.

September 28 – The 2023 movie Mystery by the Book will make its small screen debut on Great American Family at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A bookstore owner starts an antagonistic relationship with a book cover model until an antique key found in a false book unlocks their romance. The movie stars Alicia Dea Josipovic and Corey Sevier.

September 29 – The Penguin will move to its regular timeslot of 9 PM on HBO followed by the season finale of Industry at 10 PM

September 29 – The spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will debut on AMC at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Season 2 picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). Daryl and Carol both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet’s (Anne Charrier) movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France’s future. The cast includes Clemence Posey.
