The following list provides the dates of the dramas that will debut, return or end on the major and cable networks as well as the streaming services AND the made-for-TV movies and so much more that will air all throughout May:

May 1 – The new Hulu series Shardlake will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Drenched in mystery, suspense and deception, this four-part drama, based on the first novel in C.J. Sansom’s internationally popular Tudor murder mystery series, is an eerie whodunnit adventure, set in 16th century England during the dissolution of the monasteries. Shardlake’s (Arthur Hughes) sheltered life as a lawyer is turned upside down when Cromwell (Sean Bean) instructs him to investigate the murder of one of his commissioners at a monastery in the remote town of Scarnsea. The commissioner was gathering evidence to close the monastery and it is now imperative for Cromwell’s own political survival that Shardlake both solves the murder and closes the monastery. He leaves Shardlake in no doubt that failure is not an option. Cromwell insists that he is accompanied by Jack Barak (Anthony Boyle) to Scarnsea, where the duo are met with hostility, suspicion and paranoia by the monks who fear for their future and will seemingly stop at nothing to preserve their order.

May 2 – New episodes of 9-1-1, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 will air on ABC at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively tonight

May 2 – The Amazon Prime feature film The Idea of You will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom, begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet. The movie also stars Reid Scott and Perry Mattfeld.

May 2 – The season finale of We Were the Lucky Ones will air online on Hulu today

May 2 – The limited series The Tattooist of Auschwitz will debut today online on Peacock

Show Synopsis: Inspired by the real-life story of Jewish Holocaust survivors Lali and Gita Sokolov. Lali (Jonah Hauer-King) arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1942, and shortly after arrival, he was made one of the tätowierer (tattooists), charged to ink identification numbers onto fellow prisoners’ arms. One day, he meets Gita (Anna Próchniak) while tattooing her prisoner number on her arm. They experience love at first sight, and so begins a courageous, unforgettable, and human story. Under constant guard from a volatile Nazi SS officer Baretzki (Jonas Nay), Lali and Gita became determined to keep each other alive. Harvey Keitel plays the older version of Lali and Melanie Lynskey also stars.

May 2 – The new Netflix drama A Man in Full will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Facing relentless foes and sudden bankruptcy, Atlanta real estate tycoon (Jeff Daniels) must claw his way back to the top when his empire begins to crumble. The series also stars Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, Sarah Jones, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen and Tom Pelphrey.

May 2 – The new 4-part Australian rural noir crime drama Scrublands will debut online on both AMC+ and Sundance Now today

Show Synopsis: Based on Chris Hammer’s award-winning and bestselling crime novel, the captivating series follows a country town grappling with the aftermath of a horrible crime, still trying to come to terms with it a year on. Jay Ryan, Luke Arnold and Bella Heathcote co-star.

May 3 – The AMC+ movie American Star will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie is about an assassin (Ian McShane) on a final assignment in Fuerteventura, to kill a man he has never met. When his target is delayed, he finds himself drawn to the island, people and a ghostly shipwreck. The cast includes Nora Arnezeder and Thomas Kretschmann.

May 3 – The new movie Unfrosted will debut online today on Netflix

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In 1963 Michigan, business rivals Kellogg’s and Post compete to create a cake that could change breakfast forever. The ensemble cast includes Jerry Seinfeld, Hugh Grant, Melissa McCarthy, Rachael Harris, Christian Slater, Jim Gaffigan, James Marsden, Peter Dinklage, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Tony Hale, Patrick Warburton, Jack McBrayer and Cedric The Entertainer.

May 4 – The season finale of the Disney animated series Monsters at Work will air (check your local listings for airtime)

May 5 – The season finale of Call the Midwife will air on PBS at 8 PM followed by the debut of the new series MaryLand at 9 PM

Show Synopsis (MaryLand): The series follows Becca (Suranne Jones from Vigil and Gentleman Jack) and Rosaline (Eve Best from Nurse Jackie and House of the Dragon), two sisters that were distanced, but that through tragic events, learn to love and respect each other again. Stockard Channing also stars.

May 5 – The season finale of Parish will air online on AMC+ as well as on AMC at 9 PM

May 6 – The season finale of NCIS and the series finale of NCIS: Hawai’i will air on CBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 8 – The new Apple TV+ drama Dark Matter will debut online today

Show Synopsis: This sci-fi thriller series is based on the book by Blake Crouch that follows Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who – one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago – is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself. The cast includes Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga and Jimmi Simpson.

May 8 – The dramedy Palm Royale will air its finale online on Apple TV+ today

May 8 – The new Hulu drama In Limbo will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Nate (Bob Morley from The 100) is happy-go-lucky, with a good job and a loving family. So, when he commits suicide, his best friend Charlie (Ryan Corr from The Secret She Keeps and The Commons) is hit by a wrecking ball of grief. The only thing harder than losing Nate is when he returns the next day as a ghost! Nate’s stuck in limbo and needs Charlie’s help in righting some wrongs before he can cross into the afterlife. Philippa Northeast (Home and Away) co-stars.

May 9 – The season finale of Hudson & Rex will air at 8 PM on UPtv

May 9 – The new Netflix drama Bodkin will debut online today

Show Synopsis: In this darkly comedic thriller, a crew of podcasters sets out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic Irish town. Will Forte, David Wilmot, Chris Walley, Robyn Cara and Siobhan Cullen star.

May 9 – The season finale of The Girls on the Bus will air online on Max today

May 9 – The new season of the reboot of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, its new name, will debut online on Max today

May 9 – The feature film Mother of the Bride will debut online on Netflix today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Lana’s (Brooke Shields) daughter Emma (Miranda Cosgrove) returns from London and announces that she’s getting married next month. Things become more complicated when Lana learns that the man who stole Emma’s heart is the son of the man who broke hers years ago. The cast includes Benjamin Bratt, Sean Teale, Rachael Harris, Chad Michael Murray, Michael McDonald and Wilson Cruz.

May 10 – Doctor Who will air the first two episodes of its 14th season, featuring Ncuti Gatwa in the lead role, on Disney+

May 10 – The Chi will air its new season on Paramount+ with Showtime online today

May 11 – The Hallmark Channel movie A Whitewater Romance will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Maya (Cindy Busby) attends an exclusive business retreat in the Rocky Mountains where she meets Matt (Benjamin Hollingsworth) who, initially, is her competitor. As they’re forced to pair up, an unlikely connection begins to evolve. William deVry will also star.

May 12 – The second season of Interview With the Vampire will air on AMC at 9 PM as well as online on AMC+

May 12 – The 6th season of The Chi will air at 9 PM on Showtime today

May 13 – The first two episodes of the third season of Harry Wild will premiere online on Acorn TV today as well as on BBC America at 9 PM

May 13 – The new drama After the Flood will debut online on Britbox today

Show Synopsis: This is a mystery thriller set in a town hit by a devastating flood. When an unidentified man is found dead in a lift in an underground car park, police assume he became trapped as the waters rose. As the investigation unfolds, PC Joanna Marshall (Sophie Rundle), becomes obsessed with discovering what happened to him and why?

May 14 – The new limited series The Killing Kind will debut online on Hulu

Show Synopsis: The series is based on the best-selling book by Jane Casey. Nobody understands the dark gap between justice and the law better than Ingrid Lewis. As a successful barrister, Ingrid is used to dealing with tricky clients, but no-one rivals John Webster. Charming, good-looking, successful and clever. Webster was accused of coercive control by an ex-girlfriend and in court Ingrid successfully defended him, winning the case. Following the trial, Ingrid got close to Webster, too close and when she tried to exit the relationship, he turned on her and her world imploded. Now, just when she is rebuilding her life he suddenly reappears and tells her that someone is out to kill her and only he can protect her. Fueled by a need to find out the truth and locked in a game of ‘cat and mouse’ Ingrid must decide if Webster is Friend or Foe, Murderer or Protector. Stalker or Savior? And can Ingrid discover the truth before it is too late? The show stars Colin Morgan and Emma Appleton.

May 14 – The finale of Alert: Missing Persons Unit will air on FOX at 9 PM

May 14 – The box office movie The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will have its small screen debut on Starz today (check your local listings for airtime)

May 16 – The finales of Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime will all air on NBC at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 16 – Part 1 of season three of Bridgerton will premiere online on Netflix today

May 16 – The second season premiere of Outer Range will air online on Amazon Prime today

May 16 – The series finale of So Help Me Todd will air on CBS at 9 PM

May 17 – The finale of A Gentleman in Moscow will air online on Paramount+ today

May 17 – The Hallmark Mystery movie Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A former Army surgeon (Amanda Schull) moves back to her hometown and joins a practice of family doctors, but when she’s drawn into solving the mysterious death of a patient, her quiet life becomes upended. Brendan Penny co-stars.

May 17 – The limited series The Big Cigar will debut online on Apple TV+ today

Show Synopsis: Based on the monumental, eponymous magazine article by Joshuah Bearman this series is the incredible true story of Hollywood revolution meeting social revolution: it’s a wild caper of Black Panther founder Huey P. Newton (Andre Holland), who escapes from the FBI to Cuba with the assistance of famed producer Bert Schneider (Alessandro Nivola) in an impossibly elaborate plan – involving a fake movie production – that goes wrong every way it possibly can. And somehow, it’s all true. The series includes Tiffany Boone, Rebecca Dalton and P.J. Byrne (among others).

May 17 – The finales of S.W.A.T., Fire Country and Blue Bloods will all air on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 17 – The Apple TV+ series Sugar will air its season finale today

May 17 – The season finale of Mary & George will air on Starz at 9 PM

May 18 – The Hallmark Channel movie Everything Puppies will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A dedicated entrepreneur and inventor looking to make it big creating innovative dog toys and treats finds success with the support of a handsome client. The film stars Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes, Stephen Huszar and Kathryn Davis.

May 19 – The season finales of The Equalizer and Tracker and the series finale of CSI: Vegas will all air on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 19 – The finale of MaryLand will air on PBS at 9 PM followed by the series finale of Guilt at 10 PM

May 21 – The season finales of FBI, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted will all air on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 21 – The season finales of Will Trent and The Rookie will air on ABC at 8 and 9 PM respectively followed by the series finale of The Good Doctor at 10 PM

May 21 – The Cleaning Lady will air its season finale on FOX at 8 PM

May 22 – The season finales of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. will all air on NBC at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 23 – The season finale of Elsbeth will air at 10 PM on CBS

May 24 – The documentary event The Beach Boys will debut online on Disney+ today

Documentary Synopsis: This is a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come. The documentary traces the band from humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with band members and other luminaries in the music business.

May 24 – The Netflix movie Atlas will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A bleak-sounding future, where an AI soldier has determined that the only way to end war is to end humanity. The film stars Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong.

May 24 – The new series Destination Heaven will debut on Great American Pure Fix online today

Show Synopsis: The six-part scripted series features Harry Lennix (The Blackllist and Man of Steel) as God, who in each episode, will encounter people in a myriad of circumstances who all believe they’re doing the right things only to discover their approach to being good is going through the motions rather than growing emotionally or intellectually from the circumstance. The guest stars will include Kevin Sorbo, Emily Rose, and Tim Bensch.

May 26 – The HBO series The Sympathizer will air its season finale at 9 PM

May 26 – The season finale of Beacon 23 will air at 9 PM on MGM+

May 27 – The finale of After the Flood will air online on Britbox today

May 28 – The season finale of The Veil will air online on FX on Hulu today

May 29 – The season finale of Under the Bridge will air online on Hulu today

May 30 – The series finale of Star Trek: Discovery will air online on Paramount+ today

May 30 – The Netflix limited series Eric will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Set in 1980s New York, the series will follow the desperate search by a father (Benedict Cumberbatch) when his nine-year-old son disappears one morning on the way to school. The cast includes Gaby Hoffmann, Clarke Peters, Dan Fogler and McKinley Belcher III.

May 30 – The season finales of 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy will air on ABC at 8 and 9 PM respectively followed by the series finale of Station 19 at 10 PM

May 30 – The Netflix teen drama Geek Girl will debut online today

Show Synopsis: The young adult novels by Holly Smale have been made into a 10-part series, focusing on awkward, neurodivergent teenager Harriet Manners (Emily Carey) whose life is turned upside down when she is spotted to be a model and embarks on a life-affirming journey of self-discovery as she balances high school and high fashion. Tim Downie (Outlander), Sarah Parish (Broadchurch) and Jemima Rooper (Lost in Austen and Hex) also star.

May 31 – The HBO original film The Great Lillian Hall will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: As beloved Broadway star Lillian Hall (Jessica Lange) pours her heart, soul, and time into preparing for her next big role, she finds herself blindsided by confusion and forgetfulness. Battling against all odds to make it to opening night, while holding on to her fading memories and identity, she must navigate a tumultuous emotional journey – balancing her desire for the spotlight and the stark demands of the real world. The cast includes Kathy Bates, Pierce Brosnan, Lily Rabe and Jesse Williams.
