A Salute to Rising Stars

It’s that time again to salute those actresses who are on the move, actresses who deserve a little extra attention for their latest work, those actresses who are rising stars. Landing that crucial role in a TV movie or guest appearance in a successful show or film makes all the difference for aspiring actors.

Let’s take a look at the next group of actresses who viewers should keep their eyes on, and they are all from the new Taylor Sheridan drama 1923:

Julia Schlaepfer

Julia Schlaepfer is a 28-year-old actress who hails from Colorado. Before she became an actress she was taking ballet lessons from a young age to help correct a medical condition that caused her feet to turn inward. In 4th grade she caught the acting bug and she has always loved singing.

She enrolled in the Atlantic Acting School through Tisch at New York University.

Her first big role on TV was in a 2017 episode of Madam Secretary, which was followed by a guest appearance in the Alan Cummings series Instinct. She then landed a role in the Ryan Murphy Netflix drama-comedy The Politician, which starred Ben Platt and Zoey Deutsch. Being a HUGE fan of the Ryan Murphy series Glee, Julia jumped at the chance to work with her hero.

From there she appeared in the 2022 indie film The Sky Is Everywhere and then appeared in an episode of American Horror Stories.

But it is her role as Alexandra in the Taylor Sheridan-Yellowstone prequel series 1923 that has put her on the map with TV viewers.

Aminah Nieves

Aminah Nieves is an indigenous 30-something actress, model and social media star, who was born in Brooklyn, New York. After high school, she took acting classes at Hammond Academy for the Performing Arts.

She got her start in 2021 in the indie film Blueberry and then appeared in the short film Dogwood and in an episode of the short-lived horror anthology V/H/S/99.

But just like Julia, it’s been her role of Teonna Rainwater in the Yellowstone prequel 1923 that has caught the attention of viewers.

Michelle Randolph

Michelle Randolph is a 26-year actress and model from Orange County, California, who got her start in the horror flick House of the Witch. Her next project was the exact opposite of her first film, starring in the lead role in the 2018 holiday movie A Snow White Christmas. The blonde actress wore black hair in this role to emulate Snow White.

She then appeared in the2019 indie comedy flick 5 Years Apart and two movies in 2021: The Resort and The Undertaker’s Wife.

But, just like Julia and Aminah, Michelle’s role as Elizabeth Strafford in the Yellowstone prequel 1923 that has audiences turning their heads.
