My Top Choices for February TV

By  |

February will be here tomorrow, and with it are more returning dramas, specials and movies.

Out of everything that will air in February, I have – once again – selected my top choices for what I am most anxious to watch throughout the month.

First, let’s take a look at the new dramas. Out of the handful of new dramas set to debut in February, the following are my top two:

The Ark on February 1 at 10 PM on Syfy

The series comes from Dean Devlin, the man behind Leverage, Leverage: Redemption, The Librarians, Almost Paradise and so much more. The series is set 100 years in the future on a planetary colonization mission to secure the survival of the human race. Of course, a catastrophic event takes place, putting the remaining crew members in dire jeopardy.

The Company You Keep on ABC on February 19 at 10 PM

This Is Us alum Milo Ventimiglia stars as a con man who meets a beautiful woman, who just so happens to be an undercover CIA officer. Their night of passion leads to love but sets them on a collison course. The Walking Dead fans will want to watch for Sarah Waynes Callies and legendary actor James Saito [among others].

As always there are plenty more made-for-TV movies to debut; and out of the nearly 20 that are set to air in February, I’ve selected my top five.

True Spirit on Netflix on February 3

Based on the true story of Australian teenager, Jessica Watson (Teagan Croft from Titans, using her real accent by the way), the youngest person ever to sail solo, non-stop around the world.

Sweeter Than Chocolate on the Hallmark Channel on February 4 at 8 PM

I think I want to watch this movie more for the chocolate than the story; but it’ll star Eloise Mumford (Fifty Shades franchise), Dan Jeannotte (Good Witch franchise) and Desperate Housewives alum Brenda Strong. The story will focus on a local bakery that is rumored to have the secret recipe to finding true love on February 14th, drawing in a TV reporter to investigate.

Curious Caterer: Grilling Season on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on February 5 at 9 PM.

Again, I’ll be watching more because of the cast, as this is the second outing of this new franchise, which stars Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach, who have appeared on-screen together in a number of Hallmark movies.

DeLoach is back as professional caterer Goldy Berry (Nikki DeLoach) and Walker returns as detective Tom Schultz. This time Goldy is in trouble, being suspected of the murder of her latest client [not to mention her childhood friend]; and of course, Goldy and Tom have to figure out who was really behind the mystery.

At Midnight on February 10 on Paramount+

Top Gun: Maverick alum Monica Barbaro and Terminator: Dark Fate and last year’s Father of the Bride remake Diego Boneta star as polar opposites in this streaming rom-com that focuses on a hotel manager (Boneta) and a movie star (Barbaro).

Why Can’t My Life Be a Rom-Com on E! on February 19 at 9 PM

The title alone makes me want to check out this movie, but the tagline is even more crazy. Eliza, after years of bad boyfriends, follows her best friend to the Hamptons where they decide to go against convention, following the rules of dating from a 50-year-old self-help book in the hopes of finding a better partner in love.

Next up are a couple of dramas that will be returning from their long winter breaks and the season premiere of one drama:

A Million Little Things is back for its final season on ABC on February 8 at 10 PM
The Equalizer is back from its winter break on CBS at 8 PM on February 19
Alaska Daily is also back from its winter break on ABC on February 23 at 10 PM

Lastly, there are the season finales of a few dramas that I can’t wait to see:

National Treasure: Edge of History on February 8 on Disney+
Miss Scarlet and the Duke on February 12 at 8 PM on PBS
1923 on February 26 on Paramount+
La Brea on NBC on February 28 at 10 PM

Make sure to check out our full February TV calendar that will go live a little later this morning, and tell us what you are looking forward to watching.
