Netflix’s Geeked Week and Variety’s Virtual TV Fest
Netflix’s Second Annual Geeked Week, a five-day virtual event celebrating the streaming service’s genre series, films and games, started yesterday and runs through this Friday. The virtual event is being hosted across all major platforms including YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Twitch and Facebook channels. You can expect exclusive news, new trailers, celebrity appearances and much, much more.
Yesterday, Geeked Week focused on the outlets series, such as The Sandman, Wednesday (based on Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family), The Umbrella Academy, the final season of the rescued NBC drama Manifest, Locke & Key, the small screen adaptation of Resident Evil, Sweet Tooth and more.
Today, Geeked Week will focus on the streaming service’s Films while tomorrow (June 8) will focus on Animation, Thursday’s focus will be on the juggernaut Stranger Things and, lastly, on Friday it will the outlet’s Games.

Also starting today is the Virtual TV Fest by the folks at Variety. The virtual three-day event will feature keynote speakers and panels discussing the best of television, including content development, writing, cating, marketing and distribution.
Just some of the speakers will include Zendaya, Naveen Andrews, Jessica Biel, Alex Borstein, Ron Cephas-Jones, Kaley Cuoco, Shannon Doherty, Oscar Isaac, W. Kamau Bell, Andie McDowell, Salli Richardson Whitfield, Octavia Spencer, Robin Thede and the legendary Henry Winkler (and many more).
This TV Fest ends on June 9 with a unique livestream experience called “A Night in the Writer’s Room” moderated by esteemed journalists from Variety that will feature three panels with Emmy-contending writers in the drama, comedy and limited series categories.
