My Top Choices for May TV

May TV is nearly upon us, and I’ve had a very hectic couple of weeks IRL so this is the first column in my 13 years being part of the NiceGirlsTV staff that I am posting my weekly column nearly 12 hours later than normal.

That being said out of all the programming options throughout the entire month of May, the following are the dramas and movies that I am most anxious to see:

FINALES AND MORE FINALES

Outlander will bring its truncated sixth season on an end on May 1 at 9 PM on Starz
The new NBC drama The Endgame will come to an end on May 2 at 10 PM
Both The Equalizer and The Rookie will air their season finales on May 15 on CBS at 8 PM and ABC at 10 PM respectively
And, the series finale of This Is Us will air on NBC on May 24 at 9 PM followed by the season finale of New Amsterdam at 10:01 PM

BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON

The wacky comedy Girls5Eva will be back for its second season on Peacock on May 5
The thrilling Amazon drama The Wilds will be back for its second season starting on May 6

JOINING THE RANKS

The small screen adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer will debut on Netflix on May 13. With an impressive cast including Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (in the lead role) as well as Neve Campbell, LisaGay Hamilton, Becki Newton, Christopher Gorham [among others] I’m intrigued.

Theo James will be on our small screens again, this time in the lead role in the HBO drama The Time Traveler’s Wife – based on the novel. I will watch this show just for him, thank you very much!

MORE MOVIES

While I am normally the go-to gal for all things Hallmark Channel, I am more intrigued by A Perfect Pairing, which will debut on Netflix on May 19. The movie stars Victoria Justice as a woman who, after quitting a dream job, decides to open her own business – and that means having to land a big client right off the bat. So she decides to go all the way to Australia in order to charm a family wine company into getting in business with her.

And, I’ll check out the UPtv movie The Nature of Romance on May 15 at 7 PM, starring real life husband and wife Brant and Kimberly Daugherty.

I also won’t turn my back on a couple of sacchrine sweet Hallmark movies. Those being Heart of the Matter on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on May 15 at 9 PM, starring Chandler Massey, Aimee Teagarden and Gail O’Grady. And then Torrey DeVitto and Niall Matter in Rip in Time also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on May 22 at 9 PM.
