Looking Forward to The Look Back Diaries and Paley Fest 2022

By  |

On April 9, 2012, a new kind of series debuted online. That show was The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, the groundbreaking multi-platorm adaptation of the beloved novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

With a modern setting the vlog-style series starred Ashley Clements as Lizzie Bennet and Daniel Vincent Gordh as William Darcy. The story focused on the legendary character this time as a 24-year-old grad student, living at home and burdened with a mountain of student debt.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries consisted primarily of 100 episodes, two episodes airing each week for nearly a full year along with additional specials in between those weeks and a number of follow-up episodes that aired for two months during the spring of 2014.

The vlog series became the first YouTube series to win a Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media-Original Interactive Program.

Ten – yes, TEN – years later, Ashley Clements made an announcement [which you can see directly below] about The Look Back Diaries:

As she said in the video, she will set out on a year-long vlog show where she will rewatch The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (LBD) on the anniversary of each episode and share memories, stories and commentary about the making of the show, her experiences at the time and ten years of perspective.

As a way to get LBD fans and our readers ready, we’re giving you a little over two weeks notice that starting on April 9, The Look Back Diaries will begin.

You can check out the Patreon Announcement here.

If you want to check out The Lizzie Bennet Diaries ahead of time, you can watch all of the episodes here; and you can also learn about and buy the follow-up book The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet here.
