Hallmark: The Next Generation

By  |

Viewers who have been watching the multitude of movies on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (as well as Hallmark Movies Now and Hallmark Drama) over the past 20 years, are well aware – especially over the based 12 years or so – of the leading ladies who appear in those movies.

Just some of those actresses include Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Erin Krakow, Alison Sweeney, Jill Wagner, Autumn Reeser, Holly Robinson Peete, Taylor Cole, Catherine Bell, Jen Lilley and Rachel Boston.

There are also the second string of actresses who have appeared in the networks movies, some of which you can learn about here.

But soon enough there will be a new generation of actresses who will eventually take over the mantle from these talented ladies. Much like the Hallmark Second String series of article that will continue, I hope to turn this into a series of articles about Hallmark: The Next Generation.

The first set of young actresses to be highlighted are:

Ava Grace Cooper

This talented 13-year-old Canadian has been acting since she was 5 years old. She is best known for her role of Opal Weisse in the long-running Hallmark Channel drama When Calls the Heart, but she has also appeared in the following Hallmark movies: The Perfect Bride, Falling for Vermont, The Sweetest Christmas, Mingle All the Way, A Midnight Kiss, A Summer Romance and Holiday Date.

Jaeda Lily Miller

This Canadian teenager joined the cast of When Calls the Heart, playing Allie Grant, during the 6th season of the long-running series, but she has been acting in Hallmark movies since she was a little girl. She has appeared in the following movies: A Cookie Cutter Christmas, The Christmas Secret, Love Under the Stars, Operation Christmas, A Heavenly Christmas, Christmas in Evergreen and Christmas in Evergreen: Bells Are Ringing.

Cassidy Nugent

This pre-teen actress is also from Canada and has been in front of the camera since she was a baby, appearing in commercials as a toddler. She has appeared in Hallmark movies for the past five years, and those include Sweet Carolina, Chasing Waterfalls, The Angel Tree, Winter’s Dream and Love Struck Cafe. She also appeared in the holiday movie When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing.

Bailey Skodje

This American 13-year-old has also been acting since she was 5-years-old. She got started at Hallmark in 2016, appearing in the following movies for the network: Signed, Sealed, Delivered One In a Million, A Christmas to Remember, Truly Madly Sweetly, Small Town Christmas and Love Unleashed.

Olivia Steele-Falconer

This 20-something Canadian has been acting since she was around 9 years old, and joined the ranks of Hallmark in the role of Kendall Godfrey in The Chronicle Mysteries franchise, appearing in all 5 of those movies, including Recovered, Helped to Death, The Deep End, Vines That Bind and The Wrong Man. She also appeared in You’re Bacon Me Crazy.

Do you recognize any of these next generation actresses or the movies they have appeared in?
