The following list provides the dates of the dramas that will debut, return or end on the major and cable networks as well as the streaming services AND the made-for-TV movies and more that will air during August:

August 1 – The new Bounce drama Johnson will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Life-long best friends, all with the same last name of Johnson navigate love, friendship, heartbreak and personal growth together. The cast includes Thomas Q. Jones (Luke Cage and Being Mary Jane), Deji LaRay (Bosch and Greenleaf), Derrex Brady (Any Day Now) and Philip Smithey (Switched at Birth).

August 1 – The season finales of War of the Worlds and Domina will both air on EPIX at 8 and 9 PM respectively

August 1 – The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Mystery 101: Deadly History will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Amy (Jill Wagner) and Travis (Kristoffer Polaha) travel to New York to investigate when Amy’s uncle goes missing, as does all his research on the “accidental” death 50 years ago of a family heir.

August 3 – There will be a special presentation of The Haves and the Haves Nots on OWN at 8 PM

August 5 – The second season of the drama series Departure will premiere on Peacock online today

August 6 – The season finale of the dark comedy Physical will air on Apple TV+ online today

August 6 – The box office movie The Suicide Squad will debut online on HBO Max today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. The large ensemble cast includes Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Michael Rooker, Alice Braga, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, David Dastmalchlan, Pete Davidson,Taika Waitit, Sylvester Stallone, Storm Reid, Daniela Melchior, Freddie Stroma and Sean Gunn

August 6 – The new Netflix drama Hit & Run will debut online today

Show Synopsis: In this new action thriller, the life of a happily married man (Lior Raz) is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a mysterious hit and run accident in Tel Aviv. Grief-stricken and confused, he searches for his wife’s killers. With the help of an ex-lover (Sanaa Lathan), he uncovers disturbing truths about his beloved wife and the secrets she kept from him.

August 6 – The season finale of The Mysterious Benedict Society will air on Disney+ today

August 7 – The Hallmark Channel movie The 27-Hour Day will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: An entrepreneur (Autumn Reeser) takes a necessary break from developing her wellness brand empire and discovers finding that the work-life balance she needs won’t be easy. Andrew Walker co-stars.

August 8 – The summer premiere of Godfather of Harlem will air on EPIX at 9 PM

August 8 – The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Hannah Swensen Mysteries: Sweet Revenge (formerly under the Murder, She Baked franchise) is set to debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: As Hannah (Alison Sweeney) and Mike (Cameron Mathison) experience engaged life while balancing their busy careers, a murder at a 24-hour gym complicates their wedding planning. Barbara Niven also stars.

August 9 – The season finale of The Beast Must Die will air online on AMC+ today

NOTE: The same finale episode will air on AMC on August 16 at 10 PM

August 10 – The second season premiere of DC’s Stargirl will air on The CW at 8 PM

August 10 – The FOX reboot of Fantasy Island will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: A modern take on the classic 1970’s-1980’s series is set at a luxury resort, where literally any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected. Serving as steward of this mysterious island is Elena Roarke (Roselyn Sanchez from Devious Maids and Grand Hotel), a descendant of the iconic Mr. Roarke, who set aside her own ambitions, and the love of her life, to uphold her family’s legacy. Ruby Okoro (Kiara Barnes from The Bold and the Beautiful), is Elena’s assistant, a young woman with an old soul who arrives on Fantasy Island with a terminal illness and is given a new lease on life there; and Javier (John Gabriel Rodriquez from Rosewood) is the head of island transportation and a jack of all trades.

August 11 – The Netflix movie The Kissing Booth 3 will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The third and final movie in the streaming franchise finds Elle Evans (Joey King), as she spends the summer after her high-school graduation at a beach house with her weirdly possessive boyfriend, Noah (Jacob Elordi), and her weirdly possessive best friend, Lee (Joel Courtney), who each want to go to college with her (at Harvard and Berkeley, respectively). Elle must choose one at the risk of alienating the other. The cast includes Maisie Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and 1980’s star Molly Ringwald.

August 11 – The debut of the 11-episode animated series What If…? will air on Disney+ online today

Show Synopsis: The animated series explores what would happen if major moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe occurred differently, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. Jeffrey Wright narrates the series.

August 11 – The season premiere of Riverdale will air on The CW at 8 PM

August 12 – The season finale of Walker has been delayed, airing tonight on The CW at 8 PM

August 12 – The summer finale of the reboot of Gossip Girl will air on HBO Max online today

August 12 – The third season of Titans will premiere on HBO Max online today

August 13 – The Apple TV+ movie Coda will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In Gloucester, Massachusetts, a culturally Deaf family runs a fishing business. Ruby (Emilia Jones from Locke & Key), who is 17 years old and the only hearing family member, helps her deaf parents (Troy Kotsur from The Number 23 and Oscar-winner Marlee Matlin) and brother Leo (Daniel Durant from Switched at Birth) with the business. In high school, she joins the choir club, where she is attracted to her duet partner and finds a passion for singing. Her choirmaster (Eugenio Derbez from Dora and the Lost City of Gold) encourages her to consider music school, and she has to decide between helping her family and pursuing her goal. The cast includes Kevin Chapman (Person of Interest) and Amy Forsyth (Channel Zero and Rise).

August 13 – The box office movie Free Guy will debut online on Disney+ today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In the open world video game Free City, Guy (Ryan Reynolds) is a non-player character (NPC) working as a bank teller. Thanks to a program developed by programmers Milly (Jodie Comer) and Keys (Joe Keery) inserted into the game by the publisher Antoine (Taika Waititi), Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game, and takes steps to make himself the hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down. Lil Rel Howery also stars.

August 13 – The second season of the Amazon drama Modern Love will premiere online today

Show Synopsis: The 8 half-hour romantic anthology series, inspired by The New York Times column, once again, adapts different love stories taking place in New York City. This season’s cast includes Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Tobias Menzies (Outlander), Sophie Okonedo (Flack), Anna Paquin (True Blood), Minnie Driver (Ella Enchanted), Jack Reynor (Strange Angel), Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah) and Miranda Richardson (Good Omens).

August 13 – The Netflix feature film Beckett will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: While vacationing in Greece, Beckett (John David Washington), an American tourist, becomes the target of a manhunt after a devastating accident. Forced to run for his life and desperate to reach the U.S. embassy in Athens to clear his name, tensions escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy. The film also stars Alicia Vikander, Boyd Holbrook and Vicky Krieps.

August 13 – The Disney original telefilm Spin will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Rhea (Avantika) is an Indian-American teen who discovers her passion for creating DJ mixes that blend the rich textures of her South Asian culture and the world around her. Her life revolves around her eclectic group of friends, her after-school coding club, her family’s Indian restaurant and her tight-knit, multi-generational family. Everything changes when she falls for aspiring DJ Max, and her long-lost fervor for music is reignited. The cast includes Anna Cathcart (To All the Boys movie franchise) and Agam Darshi (Sanctuary).

August 13 – The new limited series Brand New Cherry Flavor will debut online on Netflix today

Show Synopsis: A filmmaker (Rosa Salazar) heads to Hollywood in the early ‘90s to make her movie but tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge, and (oddly) kittens. The film also stars Catherine Keener.

August 14 – The Hallmark Channel movie Sealed With a Kiss: Wedding March 6 will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The modest wedding plans of a celebrity (Jack Wagner) and his down-to-earth fiancée (Josie Bissett) escalate while Mick gets an enticing opportunity Olivia won’t let him refuse, putting their own big day in jeopardy.

August 15 – The UPtv movie Love Stories in Sunflower Valley will debut at 7 PM:

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Kate Francis (Erin Cahill) has been a loyal assistant at a Seattle newspaper for the past five years. When one of her story ideas finally gets accepted, the assignment takes her back to her charming hometown of Sunflower Valley. But unexpectedly, handsome newcomer and longtime writer Drew Hutton (Marcus Rosner) is also coming along. They work together and unravel a series of heartwarming love stories about the local town people. As they delve deeper into these tales of life and love, will they find their own?

August 15 – A special 90-minute presentation of All Creatures Great and Small will air on PBS at 7:30 followed by the season finales of Unforgotten and Professor T at 9 and 10 PM respectively

August 15 – The series finale of The White Lotus will air on HBO at 9 PM

August 15 – The new drama Heels will debut on Starz at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: The show is focused on the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals – Jack Spade (Stephen Amell from Arrow) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig from Vikings) war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to – or hard to leave behind. The cast includes Alison Luff, Mary McCormack and Chris Bauer.

August 15 – The 5th season premiere of Chesapeake Shores will air on the Hallmark Channel at 9 PM

August 15 – The season finale of the PBS dramas Unforgotten and Professor T will both air at 9 and 10 PM respectively

August 15 – A Discovery of Witches will air its season finale on AMC at 8 PM

August 17 – The season finale of Superman & Lois will air on The CW at 9 PM

August 18 – The new Hulu drama Nine Perfect Strangers will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Based on the bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, the series takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha (Nicole Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them. The cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Luke Evans, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving and Tiffany Boone (among others).

August 18 – The second season premiere of Diary of a Future President will air on Disney+ online today

August 19 – The 11th season premiere of The Walking Dead will air on AMC+ online today

August 19 – The season finale of the spin-off series American Horror Stories will air online today on FX on Hulu

August 19 – The season premiere of Coroner will air on The CW at 8 PM

August 20 – The new dramedy The Chair will debut online on Netflix today

Show Synopsis: Sandra Oh and Jay Duplass star in the new series that follows the chair of an English department at a major university. The cast includes Bob Balaban, David Morse and Holland Taylor.

August 20 – The Amazon feature film Annette will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film tells the story of a provocative stand-up comedian (Adam Driver) and his wife, a world-famous soprano (Marion Cotillard). Their glamorous life takes an unexpected turn when their daughter Annette is born, a girl with a unique gift. The cast includes Simon Helberg (Big Bang Theory).

August 20 – The second season premiere of Truth Be Told will air on Apple TV+ online today

August 20 – The Netflix feature film Sweet Girl will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A devastated husband (Jason Momoa) vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife’s death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter (Isabela Merced). The film also stars Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis, Michael Raymond-James, Amy Brenneman, Adria Arjona, Justin Bartha, Reggie Lee and Marisa Tomei.

August 21 – The Hallmark Channel movie A Little Daytime Drama will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In order to save her daytime soap drama from cancellation, head writer Maggie (Jen Lilley) must convince Darin (Ryan Paevey), fan favorite actor and her real-life ex-boyfriend, to return to the show. Soap legend Linda Dano also stars.

August 22 – The UPtv original telefilm Love Upstream will debut at 7 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Best selling author Charlotte Meyers (Kimberly-Sue Murray), the epitome of a sophisticated Chicago city girl, finds herself spending a month in the wilderness of Minnesota to research and write her new book “The City Girl’s Guide to Wilderness Survival.” Her personal wilderness guide is Rob (Steve Lund) – a handsome, down-to-earth, guy who doesn’t expect Charlotte to do very well in his neck of the woods. However, before long, they realize they have far more in common than not – and soon find themselves falling in love.

August 22 – The Walking Dead will air its 11th season premiere on AMC at 9 PM

August 22 – The new EPIX drama Chapelwaite will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Based on the short story Jerusalem’s Lot by Stephen King, the series is set in the 1850s, following Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea.  However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.  Emily Hampshire (12 Monkeys) also stars.

August 22 – The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Honeymoon, Honeymurder will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: While on a “pre-honeymoon” getaway, Aurora and Nick (Candace Cameron Bure and Niall Matter) discover a body, and as they get closer to finding out what really happened, danger knocks on their doorstep. Marilu Henner also stars.

August 24 – The 6th season summer premiere of Supergirl will air on The CW at 9 PM

August 25 – The original American Horror Story, now in its 10th season, will premiere on FX at 10 PM

August 26 – The season finale of The Good Fight will air online on Paramount+ today

August 27 – The season premiere of the second season of See will air online on Apple TV+ today

August 27 – The feature film He’s All That will debut on Netflix online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Padgett Sawyer (TikTok influencer Addison Rae) accepts a challenge to turn the school’s least popular boy, Cameron Kweller (Tanner Buchanan from Cobra Kai and Designated Survivor), into prom king, attempting to avenge herself following a humiliating fallout with her boyfriend. Rachael Leigh Cook, who was the lead in the original movie She’s All That, will play Padgett’s mom.

August 28 – The Hallmark Channel movie Sweet Pecan Summer will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Amanda (Christine Ko) has to work with her ex-boyfriend JP (Wes Brown) to sell her favorite aunt’s pecan farm. Putting aside their differences, old feelings start to rekindle, and they question their life paths. Lauren Tom also stars.

August 29 – The UPtv original telefilm Love’s Match will debut at 7 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Smart and beautiful matchmaker Leah Price (Megan Hutchings) is the owner of dating website Soul match. But when one of her clients still doesn’t find love, Leah reluctantly agrees to allow devilishly handsome rival matchmaker Peter Beckett (Robin Dunne), whose specialty is arranging romantic meet-cutes, to help her. During the challenge to see whose technique rules, they find something they weren’t expecting: a perfect match for themselves.

August 29 – The season finale of Godfather of Harlem will air at 9 PM on EPIX

August 31 – The new Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building will debut online today on Hulu

Show Synopsis: This comedic murder-mystery series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one when a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building. The trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. The cast includes Amy Ryan.
