It’s a Virtual World After All: Comic Con @Home 2021
San Diego Comic Con 2021 will be a virtual event again this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event will take place from July 23 to July 25; however there will be a few select events taking place on July 21 and July 22.
What was once an enormous in-person event attended by over 120,000 people every year, showcasing major motion pictures, animation, anime, TV shows (big and small), comic books, collectibles and so much more.
While the long-running annual event that has become the cornerstone of all conventions will be virtual for a second year in a row, there are still plenty of great panels to be viewed.
Among the highlights of this year’s San Diego Comic Con are as follows:
On Wednesday, July 21 at 1 PM (Pacific Time for the U.S. and Canada), Unmasking Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will be held. The panel will include special content and exclusive interviews from stars Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Iko Uwais, Peter Mensah, and Takehiro Hira.

On Friday, July 23, among the panels will be the following:
The Starz drama Heels at 10 AM will include creator and executive producer Michael Waldron, showrunner/executive producer Mike O’Malley and series stars Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison and Chris Bauer.
The annual Entertainment Weekly: Brave Warriors at 1 PM that will include among its panelists Clayton Cardenas (Mayans M.C.), Jamie Hector (Bosch), Nyambi Nyambi (The Good Fight), and Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien)
The Her Universe Fashion Show at 5 PM

On Saturday, July 24 will include the following panels:
The 6th annual Women Rocking Hollywood 2021 panel will happen at 11 AM. The focus will be on Supporting Female Filmmakers in a Post-Covid World, which will feature Kate Herron (Loki), Sian Heder (Orange is the New Black), Christina M. Kim (Blindspot and Kung Fu), Shaz Bennett (Queen Sugar), and Ebony Adams (Women in Film: LA).
The annual TV Guide Magazine’s 2021 Fan Favorites will happen at 2 PM, featuring senior writer Damian Holbrook as the moderator and panelists Shawn Ashmore (The Rookie), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer), Leah Lewis (Nancy Drew), Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Jesse Lee Soffer (Chicago P.D.), Mädchen Amick (Riverdale), Camrus Johnson (Batwoman), Roselyn Sanchez (Fantasy Island) and Nicole Maines (Supergirl).
Genre favorite authors will appear in the panel Once Upon a Baker’s Dozen at 1 PM, featuring authors Victoria Aveyard (Realm Breaker), Nafiza Azad (The Wild Ones), Peter V. Brett (The Desert Prince), Tanaz Bhathena (Rising Like a Storm), J. Elle (Wings of Ebony), Nicole Glover (The Conductors), Ayana Grey (Beasts of Prey), Elizabeth Lim (Six Crimson Cranes), Julie Murphy (Meant to Be: If the Shoe Fits), Shelley Parker-Chan (She Who Became the Sun), Ava Reid (The Wolf and the Woodsman), Laura Sebastian (Half Sick of Shadows), and Tasha Suri (The Jasmine Throne).
At 5 PM, the panel Netflix Geeked: Lucifer will happen with series star Tom Ellis along with executive producers Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich.
Eleven years after the finale, a Stargate Atlantis Cast Reunion will take place at 6 PM, bringing together cast members David Hewlett, Torri Higginson, Rachel Luttrell, Paul McGillion, Rainbow Sun Francks, David Nykl and Robert Picardo.

Lastly, on Sunday, July 25, some of the panels to be featured include:
At 11 AM, The Mysterious Benedict Society, based on The New York Times best-seller, will be featured with cast members Tony Hale, Kristen Schaal, MaameYaa Baofo, Ryan Hurst, and Gia Sandhu along with series creators Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi as well as showrunners Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin.
A panel for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will happen at 12 Noon, featuring cast members Caity Lotz, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Olivia Swann, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, and Lisseth Chavez, with Nick Zano and Matt Ryan, along with executive producers Phil Klemmer and Keto Shimizu.
