Rueben's Ramblings
Wonder Con 2021
Wonder Con, the sister convention to the long-running San Diego Comic Con, has been in existence since 1987; and while it has been held in San Francisco then Anaheim then Los Angeles and then back to Anaheim over the course of those years, it has been a fun, interesting and entertaining convention to attend. That is until last year when the Coronavirus Pandemic hit the entire world, and everything stopped.
Wonder Con 2020 – like pretty much everything else last year did not happen in person, but it did happen online via WonderCon@Home. Convention goers logged onto their computers to see pre-recorded panels for all kinds of panels, focusing on TV, movies, animation, anime and so much more.
Given that the pandemic is still lingering – although we can see light at the end of the tunnel because of the ongoing vaccinations – the powers that be at Comic Con International made the decision to hold Wonder Con 2021 online with the hope to get the convention back “to normal” next year. We can all hope that is the case for not just Wonder Con, but everything else too.
Wonder Con 2021 will be held virtually on March 26 and March 27; and while the panels aren’t quite as voluminous as in the past, there is still a great selection for pop culture fans to enjoy.
You can see the full line-up for both days of Wonder Con 2021 here (and you’ll be able to see the video for the panel at this location).
Among the highlights will be panels for:
* A salute to Missy and the Master from Doctor Who
* The new, upcomoing series Jupiter’s Legacy
* The new NBC sci-fi series Debris
* The fan favorite reality series Ghost Brothers
* A look at the new reboot of Kung Fu on The CW
* An exclusive look at the new horror series Shadowman
* A look at the new animated film Justice Society: World War II
* A sneak peek and Q&A for the returning series Manifest
* A conversation with the cast and creatives behind EPIX’s Pennyworth
* And, a chance to meet the cast of the new comedy series Norsemen
Make sure to check out the full schedule [shown above] for the two-day WonderCon@Home; learn more by visiting Wonder Con 2021; and enjoy the convention from the comfort of your living room couch.
And here is to hoping that Wonder Con 2022 can actually take place in person in Anaheim.
