Salute to Rising Stars
It’s that time again to salute those actresses who are on the move, actresses who deserve a little extra attention for their latest work, those actresses who are rising stars. Landing that crucial role in a TV movie or guest appearance in a successful show or film makes all the difference for aspiring actors.
Let’s take a look at the next group of actresses who viewers should keep their eye on:
Phoebe Dynevor
Phoebe Dynevor is a twentysometing British actress (daughter of well-known actress Sally Dynevor, who starred in the long-running series Coronation Street and Emmerdale screenwriter Tim Dynevor) who has been acting for much of her life. In fact, she got her start in the 5th season of the British series Waterloo Road when she was 14, and followed that up with appearances in other British dramas like Monroe, Prisoners Wives, The Village and The Musketeers.
She also appeared in the TV series Dickensian and the Crackle crime comedy drive Snatch (that included among its cast Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint). Most viewers will recognize her for her role as Clare in the Sutton Foster-led dramedy Younger; Clare was the Irish girl who married Josh after they got pregnant.
Most recently, though, folks who have watched the uber-popular Netflix period piece drama Bridgerton will know who Phoebe is as she portrayed the lead character Daphne Bridgerton.

Abigail Cowen
Abigail Cowen is also a twentysomething actress, but she grew up in Florida before she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She got her first break in a guest appearance in the short lived FOX drama Red Band Society followed by appearing in a couple episodes of Stranger Things.
She then appeared in flashback scenes of the short-lived CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd, playing the missing daughter of series lead Jeremy Piven’s character. That was quickly followed by a short recurring role in The Foster, playing a love interest to Brandon, the eldest son of the lead characters.
Her biggest role then came in the form of Dorcas, one of the three Weird Sisters, in the popular Netflix thriller series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina; and then she had a role in the 2020 box office film I Still Believe.
She has two projects coming up this year, including the fantasy-thriller Witch Hunt where she will star opposite Elizabeth Mitchell (of Lost fame); and then shifting gears for the period piece Redeeming Love, which is based on the novel by Francine Rivers where she will star opposite Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) and Tom Lewis (Gentleman Jack).
Currently she is starring in the lead role of Bloom Peters on the Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga that debuted on January 22.
