July TV Calendar
The following list provides the dates of the new dramas that will air on streaming services as well as the major and cable networks and the made-for-TV movies and more that will all air during July.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that any of the following could easily change because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has altered our lives and TV production permanently.
July 2 – The series finale of Council of Dads will air on NBC at 8 PM (sadly NBC cancelled the show on June 25)
July 2 – The new Netflix series Warrior Nun, based on the manga novel of the same name, will debut online today
Show Synopsis: The series follows 19-year-old Ava (Alba Baptista), a self-proclaimed “freak” who mysteriously wakes up in a morgue to find that she’s now a member of an ancient order that fights demons on Earth. The cast includes Joaquim De Almeida (24).
July 3 – The new Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club will debut online today
Show Synopsis: In this contemporary take on the beloved book series, five best friends launch a baby-sitting business that’s big on fun and adventure. The parents will be played by Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein and a group of newcomers as the five friends.
July 3 – Disney+ will air a special presentation of Hamilton online today
July 3 – The second season of Hanna will air online on Amazon today
July 5 – The season finale of Good Witch will air on Hallmark Channel at 9 PM
July 8 – The limited series Stateless will debut on Netflix today
Show Synopsis: The paths of four diverse strangers intersect at an immigration detention center in the Australian outback. The cast includes Cate Blanchett. (who also co-created) as well as Dominic West, Jai Courtney and Yvonne Strahovski.
July 9 – The finale of Burden of Truth will air on The CW at 8 PM followed by the season finale of In the Dark at 9 PM
July 10 – The box office movie Greyhound will debut on the small screen courtesy of Apple TV+
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: U.S. Navy Commander Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) is assigned to lead an Allied convoy across the Atlantic during World War II. His convoy, however, is pursued by German U-boats. Although this is Krause’s first wartime mission, he finds himself embroiled in what would come to be known as the longest, largest and most complex naval battle in history: The Battle of the Atlantic. The cast includes Elizabeth Shue, Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan and Tom Brittney [among others].
July 10 – The Cinemax drama Trackers will air its season finale at 10 PM
July 10 – The movie The Old Guard will debut online on Netflix today
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A group of mercenaries, all centuries-old immortals with the ablity to heal themselves, discover someone is onto their secret, and they must fight to protect their freedom. Among the cast is Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Chiewetel Ejiofor and Harry Melling (Dudley from Harry Potter fame).
July 10 – The new Apple TV half-hour drama Little Voice will debut online today
Show Synopsis: Bess King (Brittany O’Grady from FOX’s Star) is a uniquely talented, but stage-shy, performer struggling to fulfill her dreams while navigating rejection, love and complicated family issues. The cast includes Sean Teale (The Gifted) and Colton Ryan (Broadway’s Girl From The North Country). The series comes from J.J. Abrams with original music by Waitress writer team Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson.
July 12 – The new Starz drama Hightown will air its season finale at 8 PM
July 12 – The two-hour season finale of Snowpiercer will air on TNT at 9 PM
July 12 – The UPtv movie Love in Harmony Valley will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Emma (Amber Marshall from Heartland) has waited to reunite with her best friend Tracey (Nina Kiri from The Handmaid’s Tale) since she was in a serious accident. But Will (Eric Hicks from the Canadian series Cardinal), Tracey’s brother, won’t allow it, blaming her for the accident. When forced to work together, can Will and Emma learn to respect each other?
July 14 – The season finale of Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story will air on the USA Network at 10 PM
July 15 – The new series Brave New World will debut on Peacock, the new streaming service
Show Synopsis: Based on Aldous Huxley’s groundbreaking novel, the series imagines a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself. As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx (Harry Lloyd) and Lenina Crowne (Jessica Brown Findlay) embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage (Alden Ehrenreich), who escapes with them back to New London. John’s arrival in the New World soon threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to grapple with the repercussions. The cast includes Hannah John-Kamen, Joseph Morgan and Kylie Bunbury.
July 15 – The new Peacock series The Capture will debut online today
Show Synopsis: This conspiracy thriller looks at a troubling world of fake news and the extraordinary capabilities of the intelligence services. When soldier Shaun Emery’s (Callum Turner) conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence, he returns to life as a free man with his young daughter. But when damning CCTV footage from a night out in London comes to light, Shaun’s life takes a shocking turn and he must soon fight for his freedom once again. Detective Inspector Rachel Carey (Holliday Grainger) is drafted to investigate Shaun’s case, but she quickly learns that the truth can sometimes be a matter of perspective. The cast includes Ron Perlman, and Famke Janssen.
July 15 – The new movie Psych 2: Lassie Come Home will debut online today on Peacock
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Santa Barbara Police Chief Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) is ambushed on the job and left for dead. In a vintage Psych-style Hitchcockian nod, he begins to see impossible happenings around his recovery clinic. Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) return to Lassie’s side in Santa Barbara and are forced to navigate the personal, the professional, and possibly the supernatural. Separated from their new lives in San Francisco, our heroes find themselves unwelcome in their old stomping grounds as they secretly untangle a twisted case without the benefit of the police, their loved ones, or the quality sourdough bakeries of the Bay Area. What they uncover will change the course of their relationships forever. The cast includes Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson and Maggie Lawson.
July 16 – The season finale of The Bold Type will air on Freeform at 10 PM
July 17 – The third season of the Stana Katic-led drama Absentia will premiere on Amazon Prime today
July 17 – The new Netflix 10-episode drama Cursed will debut online today
Show Synopsis: Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue (Katherine Langford from 13 Reasons Why), a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther. The cast includes Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead and Teen Wolf) and Gustaf Skarsgard (Vikings and Westworld) [among others].
July 19 – UPtv will premiere the box office film Forever My Girl on the small screen at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Liam Page (Alex Roe) is a country music superstar who left his bride Josie (Jessica Rothe) at the altar to pursue fame and fortune. Page never got over Josie, his one true love, or forgot his Southern roots in the small community where he was born and raised. Now, he must unexpectedly face the consequences of his actions when he returns to his hometown for the funeral of his best friend from high school. The cast includes Abby Ryder Forston, Travis Tritt, Peter Cambor and Judith Hoag.
July 19 – The 2nd season premiere, airing two back-to-back episodes, of the TNT period drama The Alienist: Angel of Darkness will air at 9 and 10 PM
July 19 – The TV One film Coins For Love, a sequel to Coins for Christmas will debut at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Single mother Madison Morris (Essence Atkins from Ambitions), who finds herself starting over. Madison lands her dream job at a publishing company. To her dismay, however, she must complete a probationary period and will not receive her full salary until the process is over, leaving her in a financial struggle. With a new career and struggling to make ends meet, she works under the demands of her new job while raising two teens on her own. Making matters even more complicated, she finds herself torn between an old flame and a new love interest. Alec Darby (Stephen Bishop from Imposters and Being Mary Jane) has also started the job of his dreams on a national sports network but soon clashes with his co-host Demarco (Kendrick Cross from Ambitions). Madison and Alec have a chance encounter and connect to discuss their career challenges, prompting Alec to offer Madison a side gig as his personal assistant to help supplement her income. The two embark on a great working relationship, and sparks eventually start to fly but not before Alec’s ex-fiancée reemerges in the picture. Madison’s ex-husband also comes crawling back with promises of a fresh start adding to the drama. Tune in to see if the couple’s budding relationship will be able to withstand the ultimate test – their Exes – in this romantic drama.
July 19 – The season finales of both Grantchester and Beecham House will air on PBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively
July 24 – The Netflix sequel movie The Kissing Booth 2 will debut online today
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: After a romantic summer together, Noah (Jacob Elordi) is off to Harvard, and Elle (Joey King) heads back to high school for her senior year. The cast includes Joel Courtney, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Molly Ringwald.
July 24 – The Amazon film Radioactive will debut online today
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl and Pride and Prejudice) stars as Polish-born physicist Marie (Skłodowska) Curie, who despite not being taken seriously as a woman in a male-dominated field, forged ahead with her studies, along with her husband Pierre, discovering the elements radium and polonium, changing the world.
July 24 – The Australian-New Zealand dramedy 800 Words will debut on US TV via UPtv, airing at 8 PM
Show Synopsis: George Turner is a popular columnist for a top-selling Sydney newspaper, writing a weekly column which he insists must be exactly 800 words. After his wife dies, he buys (over the internet and unseen) a new home in a (fictional) small New Zealand seaside town called Weld, where his parents took him on holiday as a child. He then has to break the news to his two teenage children, Shay and Arlo. But the colorful and inquisitive locals in Weld ensure Turner’s dream of a fresh start does not go exactly to plan.
July 25 – The Ovation mini-series Agatha Christie’s Partners in Crime will air its season finale at 7 PM
July 26 – The fourth season of Wynonna Earp will premiere on Syfy at 10 PM
July 28 – The CW will premiere the two-season run of the CBS All Access series Tell Me a Story at 9 PM
July 31 – The second season of The Umbrella Academy will debut on Netflix today
July 31 – The Passionflix film Gabriel’s Inferno, Part II will debut online today
