*warning spoilers ahead*

STUPID

Cay: Alice always destroys everything that she has that is good in any way. How could it be better for her to kill Mouse than him to leave her, or for her to give up her vendetta against Kate and go with him? I guess that is her psychosis, but so illogical!

Also stupid for Kate to trust Jacob and not listen to Mary when she suggested that Kate was trusting him too much. OTOH, what the heck was he thinking trying to execute Batwoman? What would that accomplish and how would that not have led to a major blowback in Gotham? Jacob’s got some major anger issues to work through!

Also, random thought – how come Alice’s “face transplants” are never rejected? They, like all transplants, have been known to fail and require huge doses of anti-rejection drugs. You can’t just take a face and slap it on another person and expect it to look perfect and develop normal blood flow, etc. and not get rejected. Yet another reason why I hate all the face switching. So stupid!

Lisa: Jacob was stupid as hell for trying to kill Batwoman! Ugh…I felt so bad for Kate because she truly believed him and ended up being rejected by him. She should not have trusted him in the first place. Hasn’t she learned that Mary has her back and she should listen to her.

And I am with you Cay when it comes to the face switching. It is unbelievable how “easy” it is for her to swap a face. It’s not like wearing a mask.

AWESOME

Lisa: I never get tired of seeing Batwoman kick ass! That whole fight scene in the stadium was pretty cool. Also Luke and Mary! I think I will say they are awesome every episode. I loved seeing Mary stand up to Jacob on Batwoman’s behalf. She is awesome!

Cay: Mary reminding Kate of all the times she ran afoul of their father as a teenager was my favorite part! Also Mary risking her life to broker the “truce” between Jacob and Batwoman.

It was nice that Julia finally was truthful with Sophie, although concerning that it looks like Sophie is now at risk, not to mention well out of favor with Jacob.

SO SO

Cay:  How does Alice know about the kryptonite that Supergirl gave Kate? Did I miss something? Or is she thinking of the bigger piece that Luke destroyed?

Making Tommy look like Bruce Wayne is interesting, but also very annoying and Kate and Luke will see through the disguise immediately, so what is her endgame?

Lisa: Cay I thought the same thing! I thought I missed something. I have no idea how Alice knows about the Kryptonite but lord help us if it falls into her hands.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Lisa: This was a solid first season! I really enjoy the relationships of Kate and Luke and Luke and Mary (basically Luke with anyone lol). Tommy with a Bruce Wayne face? that definitely set us up for an interesting season 2 start. I hope we see Luke with a possible love interest next season and Kate and Mary continuing to build their sister bond. No more face switching please!

Cay: I just noticed today that the Crows’ logo on Jacob’s hat reminds me of the bat symbol!

CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) from football leading to psychosis and violence is an interesting villain origin story! Particularly relevant to me as I am a Steelers fan (the disease was first reported in Pittsburgh in former Steelers) and live in Massachusetts, where the Aaron Hernandez case was headline news for many months. I’m guessing this week’s villain was based on Hernandez, who was convinced of murder and later died by suicide in prison after which his brain was found to be severely affected – the worst case ever seen in someone his age. It’s an important issue to keep in the public consciousness, especially after the NFL covered it up for so long.
