Rueben's Ramblings
It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad World
For my column this week I had every intention to follow up on the last half of Paley Fest 2020, but given all that has happened over the course of this past week all over the globe, with all of the event cancellations and/or postponements, Paley Fest 2020 – and SO much more – just isn’t happening.
Right now there is a lot of apprehension and worry going around, a lot of hording of food and paper products – grocery shelves are emptying out faster than you can find a place to park. It’s a scary time for everyone, and following entertainment news may seem a bit unnecessary given the fact that productions are being shut down left and right both for box office films and TV shows alike.
Schools are now closed; restaurants, bars, movie theatres, gyms and the like are being told to shut down even churches and religious facilities are being urged to close their doors. Seniors and and those with immunity issues are being told not to leave their homes. Mandatory quarantines have hit international locales (such as Italy), and that very well could happen here in the United States in the next couple weeks only adding to the anxiety and fear of, well, everyone.
If there can be a silver lining in all of this, everyone will have lots of extra time on their hands. You can spend it with your families (do your best to find a way to entertain your kids!), you can read a good book (or two, or three or more), and/or you can binge watch all those shows or movies you’ve been meaning to check out. With that thought in mind the NiceGirls staff will be making recommendations very soon on what to watch during a quarantine (self-imposed or otherwise).
Take good care of yourselves, dear readers, be safe and do all you can to stay calm during these tumultuous times!
