Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Roundtable: Zoey’s Extraordinary Failure
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is back after a month and we are truly excited to see what they do with this show. Roz and I (and occasionally Mel) will be covering each week with the things that were Music To Our Ears and the things that were more Nails On A Chalkboard. Join us won’t you?
After hearing her first duet, Zoey gets a little too involved in her brother’s marriage. Leif receives negative feedback at work. Maggie is offered an enticing work opportunity.

Music To Our Ears
Roz: I love that Zoey is understanding more of the message to each song without needing Mo’s help to sort it out, but I also want to give everyone a hug this week. Everyone’s dealing with different levels of stress and Zoey has a calm attitude towards most of them.
In another moment, why oh why show, did you deny me that kiss between Zoey and Simon? We’ve been playing this game for a while and I need some sort of resolution. Not that I want a cheating storyline, but I need something.
Leah: I really like how well the writers are able to wind one main theme through so many different story lines. Failure being a problem for everyone down to Lief the obnoxious coworker was done really well. Know what else I like? Mandy Moore choreographer extraordinaire. She has been killing it with the choreography, which is her job and she is an Emmy winner so, not surprised just pleased.

Nails On The Chalkboard
Roz: I wish that sometimes Zoey wasn’t the only one to know what the problem is. I get that it’s helping her be more empathetic, but at what point is she going to crack from all of the emotional baggage placed on her.
Leah: I’m going to second Roz’s frustration at no kiss between Zoey and Simon. If you are going to bring us the story – then bring us the story. Cutting was just cruel, she said about a cheating story line. Also, and this is just a nitpick – why bother to have Max get a girlfriend at all if she is only going to last for one real episode.

Music
Roz: I had so many moments this week. “Fight for Your Right!” and “Should I Stay or Should I Go Now” are two favorites.
