STUMPTOWN Roundtable: At All Costs: The Conrad Costas Chronicles
Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Leah, Lisa and Roz while we discuss this episode of Stumptown – “At All Costs: The Conrad Costas Chronicles” which focused on the following:
Dex and Grey venture to Los Angeles to help a client who believes her Hollywood script has been plagiarized by a former classmate. Reluctantly, Grey leaves Ansel and Tookie in charge of The Bad Alibi, and against his wishes, Tookie hosts a birthday party at the bar. Panic sets in when they discover a valuable is missing.
The Good
Lisa: I think it was cool that Grey and Dex took a trip to LA and left Tookie and Ansel in charge of the bar. I love seeing Tookie and Ansel together and Ansel’s growing responsibilities. I may be bias but I thought it was cool that they gave a shout out to the scripties (script supervisors) on the movie set. My bestie Aleshia Mueller is one of the best in the biz so I got a kick out of it.
Roz: Using LA for it’s old homes that are the places of my childhood! My family owns so many houses that look like the one Grey’s dad has and it’s wonderful to see LA as LA.
I also love Grey seeing his dad and using the car as a way to express all of those old issues.
Leah: Grey and Dex on a road trip figuring out their family issues together was great!
The Bad
Lisa: The drunk Wine-o-gram! OMG! Can you imagine his drunk ass being paid to serenade someone? He practically ruined the birthday party. Him falling off of the table was comical but that whole situation was a hot mess. Oh and then there was the fire bomb. That was bad too. lol
Roz: I wish that Grey and Tookie had worked out something so that the little plot about the musket didn’t happen. We’re on how many feels of Grey and Tookie not agreeing on something now?
Leah: I’m with Roz, I could have done without the subplot of the missing musket. It was nothing in the end and wasn’t at all necessary.
Final Thought
Lisa: I liked that Grey saw his father and we got a glimpse of his past. I don’t know how seeing how much his father changed and has a new family will affect him, but that is such a relatable issue. I thought Jake Johnson gave a hell of a performance in the scene with his father. I hope Dex gets the answers she is searching for too where her family is concerned.
Roz: We’re getting some answers about Dex’s life, but I want to see a little more each week. It’s great that she saw her aunt again, but so unfortunate that her aunt thought she was her mom.
Leah: I’m glad next episode has Dex and Grey still on their road trip, I like their dynamic.
