My Top Choices for March TV

By  |

There are a lot of programming options on the major and cable networks next month, but for once I have a short list of choices for what I’m looking forward to watching on TV throughout March.

They are as follows:

FINALES

The two-hour season finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star will air on FOX on March 9, and on March 26, the season finale of A Million Little Things will air on ABC.

RETURN

9-1-1 returns to FOX on March 16 now that its spin-off has come to an end while Supernatural will be back on The CW on its new night (Mondays) starting March 16.

NEWCOMERS

The new NBC drama Council of Dads will debut on March 10. The Perry family grows in unexpected ways after a life-changing event, as oldest daughter Luly and her four siblings — Theo, Charlotte, JJ and newborn Hope — adjust to the addition of three new “dads” who agree to help guide and support them and their mother, Robin, through all the challenges and triumphs life has to offer as a promise to their late father. These men — Anthony, Larry and Oliver — soon find redemption and purpose in their new roles as backup dads, discovering that they need the Perry family as much as the Perry family needs them. The cast includes Clive Standen, Michael O’Neill, J. August Richards, Sarah Wayne Callies and Tom Everett Scott.

The new WGN America series Almost Paradise will debut on March 30. Christian Kane as Alex Walker, a former US DEA agent who was forced into early retirement. Once the DEA’s most resourceful undercover operative, the combination of his partner’s betrayal and a life-threatening battle with hypertension has sent him as far from the madness as he can go… a small tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago.

MOVIES

UPtv is at it again with movies all month long:

Secret Millionnaire, starring Siobhan Williams and Steve Lund, on March 1
Tomboy, starring Mackenzie Vega, Tom Maden, Greg Grunberg and Denise Richards, on March 8
Advance & Retreat, starring Riley Voelkel, Casey Deidrick, Tiffany Boone and C. Thomas Howell on March 15
Diagnosis Delicious, starring Maya Stojan, Ryan Rottman and Bess Armstrong, on March 22
Undercover Angel, starring Katharine Isabelle, Shawn Roberts and Britt Irvin, on March 29

Hallmark Channel also has a couple new movies before their big Spring Fever movies get underway:

Adventures in Love and Babysitting, starring Tammin Sursok and Travis Van Winkle, on March 21
Just My Type, starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Brett Dalton, on March 28
