STUMPTOWN Roundtable: The Dex Factor

By  |

Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Leah, Lisa and Roz while we discuss this episode of Stumptown –  “The Dex Factor” which focused on the following:

Dex goes undercover as a potential buyer to help Hoffman and Grey with the next phase of their drug case. Meanwhile, Dex unexpectedly becomes close to a fellow veteran support group member and soon discovers they have more in common than they thought. After being left in charge of the Bad Alibi, Ansel struggles to maintain order and enlists Tookie’s help.

The Good

Roz: I love what Tookie means to Ansel and how they always rely on each other to get things done when the times are less than ideal.

Leah: I’m with Roz – Tookie is great! He always comes through for Ansel and Dex.

Lisa: Me too! I love the Tookie and Ansel scenes. I loved that they egged the house of that couple that gave them a bad review. They were so cute together. I also thought Dex’s line “You were both inside of me but not at the same time” to Grey and Hoffman was pretty funny!

The Bad

Roz: This whole plan of Grey’s for Hoffman is just bad bad bad, especially with that Army woman in the mix trying to get her boss their drugs back.

Also, that chase scene had too many California trees in the mix! Why not just shoot in Portland? Los Angeles is not Portland in any stretch of the imagination.

Leah: Oh I had issues with this episode. So. Many. Issues. The hitwoman sent by the big bad heroin moving operation that scared the veteran cop has a heart of gold? Really? This multi-episode arc had a seriously anticlimactic ending. Also the idea that the cops would be after Grey when he was the informant and didn’t see Max sitting in the front seat of his truck. The whole thing where Grey left his bar to be run by Ansel. Ansel is absolutely competent, but you can’t leave him in charge of so many people who clearly don’t give a f…..

Lisa: Yeah this episode had a fair share issues. Leah pretty much summed it up. All I can add is having Dex’s lady lover turn into the hitwoman was exciting but a bit of a bummer.

Final Thought

Roz: Hoffman’s Dad! I’m so intrigued by what is going to happen with that meeting and potential case.

Leah: Hoffman’s Dad should be a very interesting addition. Can’t wait to see how that all shakes out.

Lisa: Yes! That was a hell of an ending. What is up with Hoffman and his dad? I hope this storyline gives us more of Hoffman’s background. I love my Micheal Ealy and more Hoffman makes me happy. 🙂
