STUMPTOWN Roundtable: The Past and the Furious

By  |

Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Leah, Lisa and Roz while we discuss this episode of Stumptown –  “The Past and the Furious” which focused on the following:

With Sue Lynn’s help, Dex works to find a fellow veteran’s birth parents after he discovers that he’s adopted. Meanwhile, Ansel creates a birthday bucket list for turning twenty-one and enlists Grey’s help to complete each item. Elsewhere, Grey continues to work with Hoffman and goes undercover to infiltrate a car ring operation.

The Good
Leah: Sue Lynn is growing on me. I definitely did not want to like her, but she actually has good intentions, most of the time. Also anytime Inbar Lavi (Lucifer, Imposters) is on my screen I’m happy. Her badass car thief is very reminiscent of Angelina Jolie in Gone in 60 Seconds.

Roz: Oh Dex is maybe getting over all her myriad issues. But it’s good to watch her struggle with these issues and maybe figure out what she needs to do at the end. Her work with Sue Lynn at the end was great to see, too.

Lisa: I loved seeing Inbar Lavi in this episode too. She was so badass! In a strange way I was rooting for Grey to ditch the undercover and work with her! I also think Grey and Ansel’s relationship is so cute. I love how Ansel wants to be a man!

The Bad
Leah: Oh I have had enough of Hoffman. Is he kidding me with this “bullying” Grey crap? Also – anyone who has ever watched a car theft show/movie knows you can’t put a tracker on the car! He approached Grey. He made Grey do this and now he is being all shady. NOPE. But also Grey – if that man falls for Max after just being played by another woman less than two episodes ago…..For shame.

Roz: Grey working with this crew is going to go nowhere good, especially when they ask him to move all that heroine.

Lisa: That is the truth Roz! Nothing good will come of this arrangement and Hoffman started it all. As much as I love Michael Ealy and I would never speak a bad word about his dreamy self….Hoffman is getting on my nerves which as least speaks to how good of an actor Michael Ealy is. It takes a lot for me to roll my eyes at that man and I was over him in this episode.

Final Thoughts
Leah: I’d really like to see Dex work on her issues now that Ansel is out of the house.

Roz: I feel we’re going to see Dex fall apart soon with Ansel out of the house – more than we did this week. That can’t be anything good for anyone involved.

Lisa: I agree with Leah. I’d like to see Dex deal with her issues and begin to heal. Her transition process of being alone is real and honest. I also would like to see more of Ansel gaining his independence. This show is currently one of my favorites.
