STUMPTOWN Roundtable: Dex Education

Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Leah, Lisa and Roz while we discuss this episode of Stumptown –  “Dex Education” which focused on the following:

Dex goes undercover as a high school substitute teacher after an old classmate of hers enlists her help to find out who planted drugs on her daughter. Meanwhile, Dex and Liz’s relationship gets too close for comfort.

The Good
Leah: Dex in a school setting – with children. She is not suitable for most adults let alone teens! I’m putting this under good but I have some questions (they are in final thoughts) – Ansel wanting to move out. It’s great that he feels confident enough to be on his own. For all of Dex’s issues there is something to be said for helping raise a sibling who is comfortable being on their own.

Lisa: Girl…Dex in a school setting! Yes! I was thinking, “please let this be her new side hustle” lol. How satisfying would it be so see her whip those little brats into shape (and her kids were extra disrespectful)? lol I loved it.

The Bad
Leah: Liz – I KNEW YOU WERE UP TO SOMETHING! What in the ever loving heck was she thinking? How was this going to end up okay? I mean really! To quote N’Sync, “Bye bye bye…BYE BYE.”

Lisa: Mmmm Hmmm….I never trusted that hussie from the start. All she wanted to do was ruin Grey and Dex’s relationship. Trifling! *in my Joey Fatone voice* Bye Bye Bye!

Final Thoughts
Leah: Alright, here is my question about Ansel moving out. Dex can barely support herself and Ansel living under one roof. Partly because she makes bad decisions, but still. Does Grey pay Ansel enough to have his own place? Portland isn’t the most place in the country but it isn’t cheap.

Lisa: That is a good point. I think it is good that he feels ready to live on his own, but my initial thought was why now? It seemed to come out of the blue. What happened to make him want to move out? I hope they explore the why of this storyline because I am so invested. I love Ansel and his relationship with Dex.

Also, will Dex finally settle down with Miles? Since he is sharing is true feelings and being vulnerable, will that scare her away? Where will Grey land in in the relationship game? So much going on! I absolutely love this show.
