The original Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday debuts tonight, December 15.

Hannah (Jen Lilley from the Hallmark Channel movies Love Unleashed and Paris, Wine and Romance), editor at her parents’ publishing company in Angel Falls, still holds a grudge against Ryan (Carlo Marks from Hallmark Channel’s Chesapeake Shores), editor at Pages Publishing in New York, ever since he “stole” her dream job after college.

Back home to settle his parents’ estate, Ryan visits Hannah’s parents, and after revealing he’s between jobs, he’s offered a consulting position. Upset, Hannah goes to the bookstore to vent with her friend, while Anthony (Eric Close from Without a Trace and the movie Christmas in the Air), an “angelic” gentleman, leaves a book jutting from a shelf, which Hannah takes home.

At work the next morning, Hannah finds Anthony is the new receptionist. He hands her the bestseller list, and at the top is the same novel, Memories of Christmas. Seeing it, Ryan mentions the author just rented his parents’ house. Wistfully, Hannah says she wishes she could sign a writer like that, to which Anthony wisely points out, “A wish isn’t going to grant itself.”

That night, Ryan introduces Hannah to the author at a wreath-making event but when asked about her future books, the author sadly replies she’s written her last. Her late husband grew up in Angel Falls, and she wanted to be close to his spirit but is leaving because the memories are too painful. Missing his parents, Ryan’s been escaping memories too, and when he tells Hannah why he left Angel Falls, she sees a more tender man.

Good thing a wise Angel is in town, keeping people from making more mistakes by running away from love, and a very special community.

Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries at 9/8c.
