Batwoman episode 108: A Mad Tea-Party

Join NiceGirls Lisa and Cay as they discuss the episode using our feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Cay:  Well, I think I’m just going to reuse my comment from last week: We’re supposed to believe that anyone believed that Mouse was Jacob? I mean, I have always been a fan of Mission Impossible, but this seems pretty improbable. Also, at what point did they make the swap? Thank goodness Kate figured it out relatively quickly but how did Katherine not? I know that Mouse is good with voices, but how did it take so long for him to get caught up?

Lisa: That is the million dollar question. I know one thing, I am over the whole “Mouse switching bodies” storyline. Ugh…I’m over it.

AWESOME

Cay: Not sure “awesome” is the word, but I liked Mary being straight with Kate. I may as well just put Mary down for this category every week because she’s my favorite character. I also liked that Katherine knew about her little clinic and didn’t say anything because she didn’t want to discourage her. Not exactly textbook Mom behavior because the clinic is certainly dangerous on a number of levels, but still loving and supportive.

On a completely unrelated note, I was relieved that Jacob and Kate have finally realized that Alice/Beth is nonredeemable. Their little fantasy of how this was all going to have a happy ending was very unrealistic.

Lisa: I agree! I’m glad they finally realized that Alice/Beth is too far gone for redemption. It is a shame that it took them this long to figure it out.

But on the awesome note, I loved that Katherine knew about the clinic and didn’t say anything to Mary. So sweet! It was also pretty awesome  when Batwoman was kicking ass up and down the stairs. It never gets old seeing her kick ass!

SO SO

Cay:  What happens with Sophie and Kate now? I’m not sure that I can see them getting back together after all that has happened. I’m thinking that Batwoman (or Batman for that matter) would make a bad significant other. But now Sophie seems to have lost everything (again!). Her husband could have been a bit more supportive!

Lisa: I would love to see Kate and Sophie back together because I am such a sap but I agree, I don’t know how they would get past everything that has happened.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Cay: Not that I’m a big Katherine fan, but killing her seemed so unnecessary. Ok, maybe they needed something to finally make Jacob and Kate see the light (or rather the dark),  but I think they could’ve come up with something else other than to once again punish Mary, who in the end will suffer the most.

Lisa: I am living in your brain at this point because I couldn’t have said it better. I feel sorry for Mary, she didn’t deserve to witness her mother’s death. Will Mary’s relationship with Kate recover? This show continues to bring it each week. I can’t wait for the crossover event next week!

Next week, on Monday, December 9th, Batwoman joins the Arrowverse crossover extravaganza “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. You won’t want to miss it! The action starts on Supergirl on Sunday, December 8th, then Batwoman on Monday, then The Flash on Tuesday, and finally Arrow in mid January.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
