Giving Thanks
As always at this time of year, it’s time to give thanks; and when you’re on the staff here at NiceGirlsTV, those things for which we all seem to be thankful for each year have a lot to do with TV.
This year here are the things for which I am most thankful for:
Period Pieces – Anyone who has read any of my articles will know just how much I LOVE Outlander, but my love of period pieces isn’t limited to just that Starz series. I have loved Downton Abbey since its premiere episode, and I loved seeing the box office movie back in October. I was also excited, albeit it saddened, to watch the final season of Poldark on PBS.
The NiceGirls Staff – We live all over the country, and even in Australia (Hey, Angela!!); and while we rarely get to see each other in person, I know I can always count on the girls to be supportive, helpful and there for me whenever I need them.
Books – It’s becoming more and more rare for people to love books, real bound books with spines and individual pages to turn as you get deeper and deeper into the story, but I LOVE books! My love of books developed in high school thanks to my late Uncle Richard, the high school English teacher, who encouraged me to read Anne of Green Gables after I watched the PBS movie that starred actress Megan Follows in the lead role.
New Amsterdam – Normally I am reticent to watch medical dramas (it’s a LONG story but I have a deep-rooted fear of doctors and hospitals), but I took a chance on this show last year when it debuted on NBC, and I’m actually really glad that I did. For one hour every week, I can believe that there are kind and compassionate doctors out there in the world, trying to make a difference by helping their patients as best they can.
What are you most thankful for this year? Please share below.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers who celebrate the holiday!
