THE GOOD PLACE Roundtable: Help is Other People

The Good Place continues its final season with a brand new episode this week. Check out our thoughts below. Here’s a synopsis:

It comes down to the wire as Team Cockroach prepares for the last few hours of their experiment, hoping that their subjects have amassed enough points. Of course this means another ethical dilemma for Chidi.

We’re going to divide our thoughts on this episode into three self-explanatory categories – The Good Place, The Medium Place, and The Bad Place, plus a final category for favorite quotes or overall thoughts.

The Good Place

Cay: Jason’s coherent monologue on the “prevent defense” in football. I hate it with such a passion and always say that the only thing it prevents is a win. Also kudos to Simone for figuring things out.

Roz: I love that Simone was the one who figured out that this was all not normal and was a Bad Place like situation. Also, Brent in the hole!

Christie: Brent finally has a breakthrough! Too bad it happened too late. Also, Janet’s sparkly magician’s assistant costume is HOT! Also, the idea of Brent falling in that hole and never reach the bottom… satisfying.

Bad Place

Cay: I usually think Tahani is annoying, but she was even more so today. I also was rooting for Brent to fall into the pit straight to hell and I’m disappointed that it didn’t happen. Also surprised it took Chidi so long to realize what was up when Eleanor kept basically torturing him IN HEAVEN!

Roz: Eleanor having to do all of this to sort of torture Chidi has been painful to watch, but I’m glad that the situation is out in the open and we have a way forward now.

Christie: We’re at the midway point of this season, and it’s the last season! Totally forking sucks! It’s over too soon!

The Medium Place

Cay: Not sure that I loved the time jump here – it doesn’t look like much has changed since previous episodes, which were supposedly months prior.

Christie: Simone figuring it out kind of bugs me. It’s a bit predictable.

Roz: How is this the half way point? What else can happen? Is there enough story now that the group has figured out the deal with this situation.

Final Thoughts & Quotes We Loved

Cay: “That was two good analogies in a row. I’m now worried that he’s a demon in a Jason suit!”  – Tahani Also loved Chidi blaming drinking almond milk for going to hell.

Roz: I just loved all of the quips.

Christie: “Who’s a girl gotta fork to get an ‘oops, my bad’!”

“We threw Brent in there because there is no reason any of them should help him because Brent sucks! Brent is the opposite of a box of doughnuts!”

“A toilet full of broccoli.”

“Yeah, kinda, Brent is a toilet full of broccoli.”
