Throwback Tuesday: What TV Character Will You Be This Halloween?
Four years ago, I posted the following article in celebration of Halloween, and now seemed like the right time to revisit the piece.
Truth be told, Halloween has never been a big deal to me. Sure, I dressed up for a few years when I was a kid, but growing up in a pretty strict church-going home, Halloween was not seen in the same way in my home as it was in a lot of others.
But that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate a cool costume because let’s face it the cosplayers that you see every year at Comic Con are pretty damn spectacular.
With that thought in mind, I wanted to take a look at some of the cool TV characters (past and present) who I would consider dressing as if I were ever to get into a costume again.
Katherine “Kate” Beckett – Just think about it – a terrific wig that could even come remotely close to that amazing head of hair that Stana Katic has, designer 5 inch heels, well-tailored dress pants, one of the terrific leather jackets that she wears a lot not to mention her badge and a gun. It would be fun to be a police detective or more precisely a police Captain for one night.
Wonder Woman – I dressed as the Amazonian princess when I was a little girl but it sure would be cool to get all “dolled” up with the golden lasso, the bullet-proof wristbands and the star-spangled costume that was donned by the one and only Lynda Carter. If only I were taller, svelte and buxom enough to pull it off.
Veronica Mars – Now, this costume I could pull off quite a bit easier than the other two above except that I’m slightly taller than the teen private investigator, but give me a good pair of jeans, a great wig of her curly hair from Season 3, a great colored scarf (not pictured) and of course my very own “back-up” (that great dog that she and Keith had), then I’d be all set.
Snow White – Let’s face it there are a lot of amazing gowns featured on the ABC drama Once Upon a Time (c’mon the Evil Queen has gotten to wear some amazing ones for sure), but there is just something about the purple gown and the white cloak that Ginnifer Goodwin (aka Snow White) wore that “wow’s” me.
Zoe Washburne – The only time we ever saw Zoe in a dress was in the box office film Serenity after the tragic death of her husband Wash. That incredible dress has been etched into my mind since the first time I saw it; and it still amazes me every single time I see the film. It would be a little hard to walk around in it because of the back train, but damn it is such a great dress.
Those are just a few of the TV characters who I would dress up as for Halloween if I ever decided to don a costume. Which characters would you pick? Please share your choices below.
