THE GOOD PLACE Roundtable: Employee of the Bearimy

By  |

The Good Place continues its final season with a brand new episode this week. Check out our thoughts below.

Michael and Jason hatch a plan. Eleanor learns firsthand the difficulties of running the neighborhood.

We’re going to divide our thoughts on this episode into three self-explanatory categories – The Good Place, The Medium Place, and The Bad Place, plus a final category for favorite quotes or overall thoughts.

The Good Place

Cay:  Jason once again being Jason and Derrick being Derrick. Plus Vicki as a giant splat of goo!

Roz: Vicki finally gets it! And I love it!

Christie: Vicki gets blown up! That’s it. That’s all you need to know. It’s everything!

Bad Place

Cay:  Tahani – she was more annoying than usual in this episode!

Roz: When did Tahani get so needy and unsure of herself? It seems out of character at this point.

Christie: Tahani suddenly feeling like all she’s good at is throwing parties feels out of left field. Planning and hosting was such a big part of her life, so why is it suddenly an issue?

The Medium Place

Christie: I’m a little disappointed that the Bad Place rescue plot line lasted only one episode. I feel like they got away too easily. But, again, Vicki gets blown up. And that made me happy.

Cay: Yeah, agreed, it was a fast resolution to a seemingly complicated situation!

Roz: Yes, I wanted more of Jason and Michael in The Bad Place.

Final Thoughts & Quotes We Loved

Cay: DemonCon was amusing – I’ve spent almost a trillion hours at conferences watching powerpoints at conferences over the years! It was really lacking a poster session, though!  Why didn’t Michael just blow up Shawn? Seems like that would have solved a number of issues!

Roz: Is this episode mostly filler? I think so.

Christie: Overall this feels like a mediocre episode. After the promise at the end of episode 4 this is was all cleaned up too easily.

The Good Place airs Thursdays 9/8c on NBC

Christie Zizo is never far from a computer or her phone anyway, so she decided to put that addiction to use and became a journalist. Usually while she bangs away at a keyboard, she's got Turner Classic Movies, a British sitcom, or something Scifi/Fantasy on TV (Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, American Gods, and many, many others). Her new obsession is "A Discovery of Witches," and all the history and science that goes into this fantasy series.
