ONE CHICAGO Previews Crossover Event

By  |

We were lucky enough to get a chance to talk to the casts of all of the Chicago shows earlier this month at the One Chicago Press Event. While they of course couldn’t say too much we were given a few tidbits.

Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas told us this is the most ambitious crossover they have ever done. With all three shows airing on the same night they were able to make it more of a three hour movie than a standard three episode event. In cast while we were talking to them they were still shooting a few of the final scenes. He described it as a War of the Worlds kind of scenario with germs and bacteria.

The cast of all three shows all said this was a melding of characters. Nick Gehlfuss, who plays Halstead on Chicago Med, mentioned that he was more involved in the P.D. episode than his own at times. He mentioned that he got to do some great cop stuff, but couldn’t spoil more than that.

Over on Chicago P.D. this will hit home for Upton, played by Tracy Spiridakos. There will be a personal connection for her.

If you are into the Chicago shows for the couples, and believe me we get that, then you won’t be disappointed. Cruz is dealing with some things with his girlfriend teased Joe Minoso and Burzek fans will see a set up that will be revisited later in the season.

Check out all of our One Chicago coverage here and be sure to tweet #onechicago tonight while you are watching all of the madness that is One Chicago NBC Crossover.

The One Chicago “Infection” crossover airs tonight on NBC, starting with Fire at 8/7c, followed by Med at 9 pm and wrapping up with P.D. at 10 pm.
