A Million Little Things: Mixed Signals

By  |

The third episode of A Million Little Things aired on Thursday night.

Here is the synopsis for season two, episode 3, Mixed Signals:

On the verge of becoming a filmmaker, Rome takes a meeting with an old producer friend which causes him to feel torn about the creative changes he suggests for his script. Meanwhile, Gary steps in to help Danny prepare to audition for his school play; while Delilah, craving some adult time, agrees to go to dinner with Andrew.

Nice Girls Cay and Rueben share their thoughts:

Rueben:

Much like the episode title, many of the characters were sending out mixed signals. Katherine letting down her guard with Eddie, but then realizing that she’s not ready to move forward that quickly. I think she needs to take her time with all of this, and I’m pretty sure Eddie will give her all the time in the world. There were even mixed signals between Andrew and Delilah. I still don’t know how I feel about Andrew. On the one hand I can see why Regina is reticent to have him around, and then with Delilah he seems genuinely taken with her, but there is no way that Delilah is ready for a new relationship. I can’t tell if he is well-meaning or duplicitous. Then there is Maggie’s mom. What is up with her and this Eric? Don’t get me wrong I adore Jason Ritter, but what is going on there? And then there is little Danny. It was so fun seeing him and Gary practice the “Grease Lightning” scene, and then Gary giving Danny that pep talk. Gary is just my favorite character!! I also loved how supportive Rome was to Regina in her wanting Andrew out of the restaurant, and doing it on her own. He is such a good husband to her, and I’m glad that he seems to be in a better place, even being willing to take that commercial job to help support Regina. I have to wonder, though, how are things going to play out with PJ. What will the results be of that DNA test? I don’t want to think that Jon would’ve had an affair with Barbara all those years ago, but maybe they did. I just don’t know what to think about that whole scenario. What will PJ do once he knows the truth? Will he confront his parents with the results? How will his dad handle the news? What will happen when he tells them he knows about the money Jon left Barbara? Oh, and do you think since they’ve introduced Gary’s mom Alice that we’ll get to see her at some point, and maybe allow Gary to find some closure with her?

Cay:

Yeah, I don’t like Andrew and Delilah. First, he seems too smooth. Second, I definitely think she has more than enough going on right now and jumping into any sort of dating situation seems like a really dumb idea. Why can’t anyone on TV be single for any extended period of time? There is more to life than finding a partner!

Each episode makes me love Gary more! Sort of surprised he’d take on babysitting a newborn (not sure I would!) but I love him with Danny. The scene where Gary showed up at Maggie’s office was also great. It’s so endearing that he’s in touch with his feelings and cares so much about everyone in his life. But, he never seems to learn not to interfere, so we’ll see how it goes this time with Maggie and her mom!

Rome is a great husband indeed. I just hope he doesn’t change his script just to sell it to get money to support the restaurant and then regret it forever! I also worry about his relationship with PJ. Maybe it will all be okay, but it seems likely to create a LOT of drama.

Katherine is a saint, I’ve said it before, I’m saying it again. But their gradual reconciliation does make me feel good, even though I’m really not sure that Eddie deserves it!
