Dragon Con 2019: Friday Highlights
What a great way to kick off Dragon Con 2019!
I started out the day at a press conference with Rose McIver from iZombie. (WOO!)
What she loved about her character Liv: She was proud to play Liv, because she was an unusual hero who struggled with her identity and came out of the show knowing her true self. Rose loves that her character is out there for young girls to see and to show them that it’s ok to be vulnerable.
What superhero would she play: When people ask her that she she says she’s already played her. Liv Moore.
I was a panelist on the Disaster & Cooperation: A Siren Fan panel at 4pm and it was so fun! We discussed the epic season 2 finale and our predictions for Season 3! Thank you to everyone that came to chat all things Siren with us.
Next I was a panelist on the Jordan Peele Fan panel at 7pm and it was scary good! We discussed the terrifying sunken place from Get Out, the brilliance of Lupita Nyongo and the cast of Us, his current work on the Twilight Zone and how we look forward to his take on the horror classic Candyman in 2020. We also had a healthy discussion of the theme of race relations in his films and how relevant and important it is to shine a light on these topics. Our Moderator Damian Allen did a great cosplay from Us along with quite a few people who attended our panel. Hands across Dragon Con anyone?
I also got to meet Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves, the original Ghost Hunters. I can’t wait for the premiere of their new show Ghost Nation on the Travel Channel on October 11th!
Best TV Cosplay of the Day
The fabulous Michael Bigay of Micvee Cosplay as Mateo from Superstore!
