BLOOD & TREASURE: Observations From “The Wages of Vengeance”

Blood & Treasure was all new on Tuesday night, finding Danny and Lexi hot on the trail of Farouk. Here is the synopsis for the episode:

After nearly capturing Farouk, Danny and Lexi enlist Hardwick to tap into his underworld contacts in hopes of cornering Farouk before he disappears again; Gwen, fed up with Danny and Lexi’s tactics, arrests Father Chuck for aiding them.

The Brotherhood

Holy crap, we got to see a lot more of The Brotherhood’s lair – even Danny FINALLY got to see inside, and his little boy expression near the end of the episode was priceless wasn’t it? We also got to meet a female member of The Brotherhood who was willing to help Danny and Lexi in their search for Farouk. I guess their losing Fabi has made this secretive group a little more open, huh?

We also learned that Lexi’s dad FORBADE the group to ever try to enlist her among their ranks. She may not have joined them (yet?!), but she’s certainly involved; and what’s more she’s a direct descendant of Cleo-freaking-patra. Say what now! That was cool (despite the fact they spoiled that in last week’s clip! – they really should’ve saved that reveal.)

Father Chuck

We finally get to see him, and what happens?! Gwen arrests him. WTH?!! I loved how he took over Gwen’s “interrogation” of him, giving her advice in the end. Father Chuck is just the greatest!

Working with Simon

Of course, Danny and Lexi needed someone in antiquities to help them track down Farouk, and while I thought it was a bad idea to bring him into the fold again…it proved to be a good thing. After all, he was the one who brought Farouk down. I have to admit that took away Lexi’s revenge path, though.

They FINALLY got him. ‘Nuff said, right?!

Lexi and Danny

They are just so great together. I know that Leah and I have both raved about them, but they really are a great couple. I can’t wait to see where they go from here.
