San Diego Comic Con 2019: Watching From Home (Again)
Just like last year, I will be “watching” San Diego Comic Con 2019 from home, as I am not able to attend once again. The big event starts tomorrow night with preview night, and – as always – the four-day event will feature lots and lots of celebrity appearances, sneak peeks of new shows and movies, lots of cosplayers and, naturally, loads of attendees.
As was the case last year not attending this year feels odds, but I have to admit that covering the event from home last year was so much easier. There were no crowds to deal with, no endless days of walking ALL over the place and getting a good night’s sleep every night. Thankfully there is plenty of coverage online from lots and lots of sites for the bigger panels and events taking place each day at the con.
I do miss seeing the rest of the NiceGirlsTV staff who will be attending this year, but I will be following their adventures online, and I hope our readers will do the same. Please make sure to check out all of their reports on Twitter @NiceGirlsTV and check back here at our site for coverage on all things San Diego Comic Con 2019. Also, if you get a chance, please visit my site Rueben’s Ramblings for updates that I will be culling from all of the major outlets reporting from the big event.
Among the TV shows that will be featured in panels throughout the convention that I am interested to learn about include the cast of Veronica Mars, which will be airing a 4th season on Hulu started July 26; the Syfy dramas Wynonna Earp and The Magicians; the new ABC dramas Stumptown and Emergence; History’s period piece/alien-themed drama Project Blue Book; the YouTube streaming series Impulse; the new EPIX dark drama Pennyworth; the Amazon series The Man in the High Castle; the new Starz series The Rook; the prophetic, new FOX mid-season series neXt and the reimagined looks at Nancy Drew and Batwoman from The CW.
Comic Con icon Nathan Fillion will also be there with The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley; there will be a salute to TV and movie composer extraordinaire Bear McCreary; several salutes to the one and only Stan Lee; Entertainment Weekly’s “Women Who Kick Ass” and the annual TV Guide Fan Favorites as well as lots of cool panels focusing on comics, young adult novels and women behind the scenes.
That’s just a sampling of some of the cool panels that will be held during San Diego Comic Con 2019. If you want to check out the schedule, head over to the Preview Night page here and then click through each day’s schedule.
For those attending Comic Con 2019, have a great time, and for those of you staying at home, like me, please check out my daily reports at Rueben’s Ramblings.
