Do You Remember: Reunion

By  |

A new FOX drama – Reunion – debuted on September 8, 2005. The series was to focus on 20 years in the lives of a group of six high school friends from Bedford, New York, with each episode following one year in the lives of the six, beginning with their high school graduation in 1986. Each episode was to feature scenes in the present where Detective Marjorino (Mathew St. Patrick from Six Feet Under) was investigating the brutal murder of one of the six during the night of their 20-year class reunion in 2006.

The series was created by Sara Goodman (Gossip Girl and Preacher) and Jon Harmon Feldman (Dirty Sexy Money, No Ordinary Family and Designated Survivor), who served as showrunner for the short-lived series.

The now well-known cast included the following:

Sean Faris (Pretty Little Liars and the Hallmark movies The Lost Valentine, Christmas with Holly, An Uncommon Grace and A Veteran’s Christmas) played Craig Brewster, the spoiled son of real estate mogul Russell Brewster (recurring guest star Gregory Harrison of Trapper John, M.D. fame) and future paraplegic politician;

Alexa Davalos (The Man in the High Castle) played Samantha “Sam” Carlton, Craig’s high school sweetheart and wife;

Will Estes (Blue Bloods) played Will Malloy, Craig’s best friend, Sam’s secret admirer (and father of Sam’s secret daughter Amy) and future Catholic priest;

Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters and Yellowstone) played Aaron Lewis, the high school geek who left MIT to sell technology and start an internet company in its early days that blossomed into a multimillion dollar company;

Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy and Supergirl) played Carla Noll, Aaron’s best friend and hidden secret admirer for years (he had a life-long affection for her too), who entered into an abusive relationship with Amy’s adopted father and was an aspiring photographer;

Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist and Colony) played Jenna Moretti, the “hot girl” who enjoyed 15 minutes of fame in the late 1980s/early 1990s as an actress before moving back to New York, attempting to get her life back on track.

Reunion was supposed to have 22 episodes, but only 13 were filmed with only 9 of them airing on the network with the last 4 airing online. Among the guest stars who appeared in the episodes that actually aired included:

George Newbern (Scandal)
Geoff Stults (7th Heaven, October Road, Enlisted and The Finder)
Gina Holden (Blood Ties and Flash Gordon)
Martin Cummins (Riverdale and When Calls the Heart)
Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica)
Samantha Ferris (Supernatural)
Pascale Hutton (When Calls the Heart)
Kavan Smith (When Calls the Heart)
Brandon Jay McLaren (Graceland and Ransom)
Chelah Horsdal (The Man in the High Castle and When Calls the Heart)
Benjamin Ayres (Saving Hope and Chronicle Mysteries movie franchise)
Katharine Isabelle (Being Human, The Magicians, The Arrangement and Hannibal)
Meta Golding (Empire and The Hunger Games, Mockingjay, Part 2)
Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies)
Tom Irwin (Saving Grace and Devious Maids)

Despite a promising start, Reunion’s ratings dropped, failing to hold the viewers from its lead-in The O.C., which led to its cancellation (pre-emptions because of baseball didn’t help either). While the murder victim was revealed in one of the aired episodes, the murderer was left unrevealed. The show was up against tough competition at the time, facing off The Apprentice and CSI in its timeslot. Reunion aired its last episode on FOX on December 15, 2005.
