WHISKEY CAVALIER Roundtable: Two of a Kind
This week on Whiskey Cavalier:
Frankie’s commitment to cold-hearted professionalism is tested when the team’s new mission to take down the head of a massive drug operation reunites her with a former guardian. Meanwhile, Jai and Standish discover that Susan has been writing psych evaluations on every member of the team, and their curiosity leads them to an unpleasant surprise
Whiskey Cavalier may have been cancelled by ABC, but we are going to finish the season strong and fingers and toes crossed someone else picks it up.
Join us as we use our new ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):
STUPID
Rueben: C’mon Frankie. You let Daniel show up at the Federal Building rather than bring him in yourself? That was just very stupid to me.
Leah: Jai and Standish getting all upset about Susan’s evals. Come on guys – get it together. This is a business. This is how it works.
Roz: Let’s take some from Rueben and some from Leah. What the hell folks!
Cay: I’m with Rueben – so dumb and out of character for Frankie!
AWESOME
Rueben: I loved that Susan has known about the secret “lair” hidden behind the bathroom sinks for months. It was worth seeing the looks on Jai’s and Standish’s faces that she knew. I also liked the moments where Will thought he was going to get a hug from Kelly and then later Frankie. Too funny that he really thought they were gonna be touchy-feely with him. I love these little moments in the show. Also, I didn’t see the reveal coming, this time, that Daniel was actually the head of the cartel and not that Benson guy.
Roz: I loved a little dead faced Christa Miller!
Leah: I’m with Rueben. Susan knowing the secret “lair” was great. Also, anytime Christa Miller is on a show I’m happy. Love her!
Cay: While Jai and Standish’s reactions to the evals were predictably immature, I like that they brought up Susan’s psychology skills and let her interrogate that guy – at the beginning of the show they made a big deal out of how good a profiler she was, but I feel like they haven’t used her all that much for that up until now. I loved Will and Frankie’s interactions over her family history!
SO-SO
Rueben: I was nonplussed about Jai’s and Standish’s reactions to Susan’s evaluations. Really? You guys are grown adults and working for the government. Grow a little backbone. Susan was doing her job!
Cay: yeah, but the two of them aren’t the most mature (probably also in Susan’s eval)
Leah: Will’s optimism that he was going to get hugs. Please refer back to my “come on guys!” comment above. Will should know better, that’s not how either of these women are “wired”.
Roz: Everyone took my moments.
YOUR THOUGHTS
Rueben: They gave too much away for next week’s final episode with Tina admitting what she did to Standish. Bad form! It’s bad enough that the network is cancelling the show, but to give that much away in the teaser trailer for next week – just wrong!!
Leah: I’m going to miss this show.
Roz: I’m going to miss this, even if it’s a little formulaic and I hope that the ending lives up to everything else.
Cay: I actually turned it off before the trailer, but if they gave away something big, it may mean that they are hiding something bigger. I’m really going to miss this show – it’s just fun.
