Fox Announces Spin Off with Rob Lowe: 9-1-1 Lone Star

By  |

Just in time for the season finale of 9-1-1, Fox has announced a spin off of it’s #1 drama. 9-1-1: Lone Star will star Rob Lowe.

From 9-1-1 co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, 9-1-1: LONE STAR follows a sophisticated New York cop (Lowe) who, along with his son, re-locates to Austin, and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.  Lowe will serve as co-executive producer on the series.

9-1-1: Lone Star should arrive for the 2019-2020 season and will be set in Austin. This is the first step in a possible franchise for the show.

There’s been no announcement yet about stars from the original show moving to the spin off, but given last week’s big shock, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Diaz headed that way. He’s from Texas, isn’t he? Or am I just remembering that wrong?

Let’s just hope they keep Austin weird and give us just as many crazy rescues as we’ve seen so far.

Cara spends way too much time thinking about subtext, and the puns are always intended. When not watching TV, she can generally be found with her nose in a book.
