KILLING EVE 2.3: Thoughts on “The Hungry Caterpillar” [Roundtable]

By  |

When we last left Villanelle and Eve on Killing Eve, Villanelle was back in the hands of The Seven, while Eve met someone she thought was dead. Oh, and there’s a new killer on the loose too.

We learn what comes next in this week’s “The Hungry Caterpillar:”

Villanelle’s circumstances are looking bleak; Eve makes a dangerous deal with an old acquaintance.

Let’s see what Cara and I thought about “The Hungry Caterpillar.”

Beware: *SPOILERS* ahead.

THE GOOD

Christie: Villanelle was fun in this episode, back in fighting form.

Cara: Yes,  it’s always good to see Villanelle back to her usual, quirky self.  Her telling the clerk to charge her purchases to the room was very reassuring.  Villanelle is back.

THE BAD

Christie: 1. I don’t understand the point of Hugo yet. 2. Eve is making one stupid move after another and I can’t figure out what her endgame is. I mean, I know she wants to find Villanelle, but to what end? Her movements are too wild. It makes me uncomfortable.

Cara: Eve is such a disaster right now,  and she’s letting Villanelle have too much control.

And,  I hate Raymond. I know,  we’re supposed to hate him,  but uggg.

THE OMG MOMENT:

Christie: My OMG moment this week is less a shocking moment and more of a “are you freaking kidding me?” moment. And it’s the one where Eve goes to Konstantin and offers him info about his family in exchange for finding Villanelle. I’m not really surprised, just frustrated with Eve this week.

Cara: Eve! What are you doing? That thing with the lipstick! Are you kidding me!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Christie: I hope Eve’s last scene in the episode sends her a message. She needs to get her head on straight! I’m interested to see how she gets past the events of this episode… or does she?

Cara: I don’t want to give too much away,  but I’m very excited about that reunion at the end.  That’s a pair I enjoy seeing work together.  Now we just have to find out who the Ghost is… Or maybe we’ve already seen her???

Killing Eve airs Sunday 8/7c on BBC America and AMC.

Christie Zizo is never far from a computer or her phone anyway, so she decided to put that addiction to use and became a journalist. Usually while she bangs away at a keyboard, she's got Turner Classic Movies, a British sitcom, or something Scifi/Fantasy on TV (Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, American Gods, and many, many others). Her new obsession is "A Discovery of Witches," and all the history and science that goes into this fantasy series.
