WHISKEY CAVALIER Roundtable: Spain, Trains and Automobiles

By  |

This week on Whiskey Cavalier:

Will, Frankie and Susan are joined by Will’s new girlfriend as they head to Spain on a mission to retrieve a case of plutonium from the wrong hands.

Join us as we use our new ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Leah: Wait….are Susan and Ray headed towards something? That can’t be happening. Right? I’m interpreting this incorrectly. RIGHT?

Roz: Why is Ray so bad? He’s not a nice guy and yet, Susan might be flirting. What is this, the Darkest Timeline?

Rueben: OMG, Leah. That thought went through my head for a quick second too. ARGH! I was really hoping I was reading it wrong. No, Susan, no!!!

Cay: Dear writers, can we whack Ray at mid-season so the viewers know that “no one is safe”? Please?  Oh, and much smaller point, but Jai’s nose looked just fine the scene after Will announced that he was “busted”.

AWESOME

Leah: Will and Frankie really did a good job this week not getting in each others way. They actually worked together. The being stranded in the cabin bit wasn’t bad either!

Roz: This mission was great for a brief look at how Will and Frankie can work together without wanting to whatever it is bored spies do when one of them is in an argument with his MI6 girlfriend…

Rueben: I enjoyed the whole mission too, especially the whole stranded in the cabin bits. And, it was quite enjoyable to see Standish being himself in the van with Tina actually understanding his tech speak. I also loved the Frankie line calling Will Captain America and Emma Hermione Granger. That was priceless actually.

Cay: I also enjoy the Frankie and Will show. But I DO NOT want to see them together, at least for MANY seasons! It was so Will to leave a note…after he and Frankie basically pillaged the whole house. It was also cool to see someone with a backstory integral to Will’s.

SO-SO

Leah: This only goes in so-so because the episode was solid form me. Emma needs to go…I love Ophelia, but I’m done with this foil for Will and Frankie.

Roz: Emma and Will’s little disagreement is dumb but I think it’s setting up their break up so who knows. But why can’t a lady be independent of her boyfriend?

Rueben: For me it was the ridiculousness of Standish trying to be something he wasn’t. The gold chains, fake teeth, et al was just so unnecessary.

Cay: I’m with Rueben. The idea was funny, but it was too over the top. It would have worked halfway there without making everyone involved embarrassed for the man.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Leah: Still really happy overall with this show. For a show with such a big cast it is nice how they manage to involve everyone. Even if they aren’t all on mission together.

Roz: This still makes me smile week after week, though this week didn’t quite make me want to jet off to Spain. Maybe someday…

Rueben: For the most part I’ve loved this show and that it’s not 100% serious all the time. I also like that Frankie is warming up quite a bit. I still can’t stand Ray, but I have to wonder when the show is going to drop and if the clips for next week’s episode are any indication, things are going to change with Will’s old boss back in the picture somehow. That’ll be interesting to see.

Cay: This was one of my favorite episodes so far.  I really enjoy the team (minus Ray).  I liked the small piece of Will’s backstory and Standish’s nemesis made me laugh.
