THE ROOKIE Roundtable: Homefront

By  |

The Rookie was back with a new episode this week, focusing on:

When a cop is arrested by Internal Affairs for lying on the witness stand, it leads to the release of three felons whose cases he worked on; Officer Nolan finds out he is being sued by a man who claims he used excessive force which led to an injury.

Let’s dig into the episode with our new feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Oh I want to punch Commander West in the face for his turn-around on why he might have been a little crooked in the past. No, you don’t get a pass for

Leah:This show making me worry Bishop was going the way of our dearly departed Captain. It isn’t Stupid per say but I was mad for a few moments.

Rueben: Nolan not keeping his mouth shut with the judge. How many times do you have to be told to keep your mouth shut? He needs to learn to listen for once.

AWESOME

Roz: Bishop for the win! I loved that she was the last to get her backstory revealed but it was done in such a way that makes this episode matter.

Leah: You know what makes this show work? Strong ass women, flaws and all. Bishop killed it this episode. Loved her story! She did what she felt was right in the end even though it might cost her her badge.

Rueben: I agree with Roz. This was Bishop’s episode, but it could’ve been a little stronger. I’m glad to have learned about her background, but now this truth could ruin her. Like Grey said she just torpedoed her career.

SO SO

Roz: I would have preferred Lopez to not try and use some random guy to see her lawyer boyfriend. Really, it’s sort of tacky.

Rueben: There is a time and place to make moves with your boyfriend, Lopez. Leave it out of the work place. I just found that annoying.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: It’s still been a letdown after that emotional episode with Captain Andersen so I hope they can turn these around before too long.

Leah: This show is not stellar in the ratings and there were times I haven’t loved it, but it has been coming along and I find I have been really looking forward to Tuesday’s. Hope it makes the cut and can continue next season.

Rueben: I’ve said from the beginning that I WANT to love this show, but just when it gets good, they go in the wrong direction. Learn from this weak episode, and make it better…please.
