Salute to Rising Stars

By  |

It’s that time again to salute those actresses who are on the move, actresses who deserve a little extra attention for their latest work, those actresses who are rising stars. Landing that crucial role in a TV movie or guest appearance in a successful show or film makes all the difference for aspiring actors.

Let’s take a look at the next two actresses who viewers should keep their eye on:

Alisha Wainwright

Alisha has been working on TV since 2014, appearing in episodes of Criminal Minds and Perception. She has also appeared in episodes of Switched at Birth, Major Crimes, Disney Star Darlings, General Hospital and Lethal Weapon.

It’s her role of Maia Roberts on soon-to-be-ending Freeform series Shadowhunters that has gotten her a lot of attention. She will next be seen in the sci-fi family Netflix drama Raising Dion that will co-star Jason Ritter and Michael B. Jordan.

Alisha can be followed on Twitter @WainwrightAE. Fans can also follow her on Facebook and Instagram.

Eline Powell

Eline was born in Belgium, and participated in theater classes in high school. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2011 with a BA degree in acting.

One of her first TV roles was appearing in two episodes of Game of Thrones in 2016 and then appeared in the box office film Novitiate in 2017. That same year she also appeared in the box office film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, but it’s been her lead role of Ryn in the Freeform fantasy series Siren that has put her on the map.
