WHISKEY CAVALIER Roundtable: When In Rome

By  |

This week on Whiskey Cavalier:

Will and Frankie continue to clash, and their growing pains may jeopardize the team’s next mission in Rome, where they are sent to prevent a terrorist attack.

Join us as we use our new ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Why are we in need of a double cross by the asset this week? I don’t mind a complicated plot, but his making that bomb propelled the end of the episode, but it was maybe too contrived.

Leah: This show is definitely not breaking ground on some new TV territory. I am worried it will get too predictable if this continues.

Rueben: I still hate Ray. He’s only worried about HIS job should the team be disbanded. Jerk! Oh, and I had a feeling that the opening scene was a training mission so that was just a little too predictable to me.

AWESOME

Roz: The small moments of team bonding as they figure each other out made me smile. Standish’s lack of personal skills, Frankie not trusting while Will will always do that.

Leah:Can we talk about the filming locations? Filming in Prague and surrounding areas really pays off for the visuals. In the Stupid comments I said that there is nothing new happening on this show that hasn’t already been shown in other shows, but what makes this show awesome for me is the interactions with the cast. Like Rueben says below, love the dialogue.

Rueben: I liked the team antics too. They work so well under pressure, but it’s all the other times that are awkward, silly and just fun to watch. They all get some great dialogue too. Standish and his ridiculousness about getting a weapon…please?! Like he thinks they’re going to trust him with a loaded weapon.

SO-SO

Roz: The bigger bad guy didn’t pack as big a punch as last week’s amazing devious widow.

Leah:Agree with both Roz and Rueben. This week’s bad guy was something of a bust.

Rueben: Yeah, he wasn’t much of anything after the build-up that he was this “big bad” except the end scene where it looked like one of his men was going to kill that little girl.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: Still going strong with the locations – it’ll make me want to pack up and roam through Europe this summer.

Rueben: I enjoyed this episode a bit more than last week, and last week’s episode wasn’t awful, but it didn’t pack as much of a punch as the pilot. I liked that Frankie and Will are so at odds, but you can see that he’s going to, somehow, wear her down. I want to learn more about their backstories so hopefully that will play out as the season rolls out.
